Feedback Abusers
So I sold this guy a pair of brand new Air Pumps for his Toyota. He just Initiated a Return under Just Didn't Like It.
How do I stop him from giving me a Neutral if I make him pay for shipping from Las Vegas to Florida and Back.

OP5 months agoEvery rule in the book they've broken.
Every Negative Feedback US Buyers give them mysteriously gets cleansed.
They just keep operating and multiplying like a Virus, 5, 10, 15 accounts & it's never enough.
And they get to call you a Racist.

·5 months agoYou’ve posted on these boards enough to know that eBay isn’t here. At this point I’m sure you know that this is a board made up of volunteer buyers and sellers, and that eBay doesn’t read these boards.
You listed something in a category that requires returns. If you’re not going to follow the rules for those listings, the buyer is entitled to be upset about it.

Don't worry about it.
A neutral feedback means the buyer gets on my blocked list.

·5 months agoFirst, let me say I think EBAY new policy of forcing Sellers to pay for "free returns" is horrible. If EBAY wants to give everyone "free returns" let them pay for it.
However, because your listing says "free returns" customer can use "any reason" and Seller will be forced to pay for return shipping.
Only thing you can do is "jack up your selling prices" to cover costs of "free returns".

·5 months agoYou can't stop a buyer from leaving feedback. You can appeal the feedback but if the decision is made that the feedback stands nothing more can be done. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. It's all part of business.

·5 months agoGrow a thicker skin. A singular neutral feedback - let alone one from a buyer who doesn't have all their cornflakes in the same box - shouldn't bother you one shred. You can respond to it professionally, letting any potential customer know that unlike this customer, all of your cornflakes ARE in the same box. 🙂
Selling on ebay is a numbers game. If you aren't getting any neutral feedback, you aren't selling enough. I, for one, need to sell more...

·5 months agoOnce upon a time, sellers had all the control and, rather unfortunately, they abused that power to the point that ebay had to finally rein them in order to stay in business. This is why we're all held to the same standards as any other "real" business now (when was the last time you saw any business anywhere fight a customer rating??). We are held to a higher standard than our buyers. That's the way business goes.
Those neutrals are not unfair. They're his opinions and there's not a single thing you can do if he gives you one for the same reason. It's just the buyer's experience. If you're really worried about it, just give him the full refund, block him, and be done with it. The only time you will "win" with a feedback disagreement is when it's clearly evident that the buyer is pulling some type of real scam.

·5 months agoYou need someone from corporate for your issue, No one here would be able to help with your situation, But that being said I also don't think corporate will help you either, Auto parts have free 30 day returns per policy, You are not honoring that policy, I agree some of his feedback is a little off the wall, But that doesn't make a case for you.

OP5 months agoI would tell Corporate that I needed a Tap because I had a broken bolt in my Intake manifold so I went to Ebay dot com and I ordered a Tap from a Seller based in Thailand that had an Item location of Phoenix Arizona BECAUSE I SAW PHX, AZ. I was given False USPS Tracking Information from the Thai seller and I opened an INR case. Since I knew I was getting Amahosed a week later I ordered an Identical Tap from a Real Physical Brick & Mortar Hardware Store located in Attleboro, Massachusetts. I received that tap all the way from Mass to Las Vegas and finished my job. Another 2 weeks passed by and an Amazon package showed up at my door with guess what ? A Tap from Thailand.

·5 months agoOkay. And after you told them all that, what would you expect eBay to do? eBay is not going to kick off the sellers that you don't like and eBay is certainly not going to stop letting sellers from other countries sell on eBay. Now what?
eBay has almost 18 Million sellers and over 2 Billion listings. There is no way they can police every seller or every listing. That is why they have their Money Back Guarantee. A buyer is expected to vet a seller as well as possible (and I realize about the shipping location often being false) and if something is not as expected, a buyer can get their money back either by filing a claim through eBay or as a last resort, a chargeback through their payment source. Yes, it can be a hassle, but so can buying things in person at a B&M store.

·5 months agoHe gave a neutral for an item that was lower quality than he expected, but that he decided to keep.
And he left a neutral for a seller who gave the wrong dimensions for the item but only refunded half his money.
Other than it being obvious that english is not his first language, I see nothing wrong with his feedback.

OP5 months agoHe hasn't done any due diligence on his behalf on what he was ordering, nor any thought process went into determining the Location of My Business and My Part & his Home Address = Remorse Return. There I fixed it for you.
It seems like were bending over backwards to only help a Greedy little Western group of people and writing all the Rules Just for them.
I have no issue with Returns but they aren't Americans and Never will be.EOS

To answer your question, you cannot make the buyer pay the return shipping. Those are new auto parts, and eBay requires sellers to offer 30-day free returns for those, which your listing correctly displays. If you do not want to offer this, then get out of the business of selling new auto parts. If you ask, demand, or otherwise trick your buyer into paying for the return shipping, it would make you a) not a good person (that is my polite way of saying what I’d really like to say), and b) if your buyer realizes what you are doing, they could report you, and that won’t look good on your account. You don’t want to gain a reputation as a seller for being a liar.
It’s a remorse return, so eBay will subsidize half the cost, which is $5 in your case.

IT'S BAD ENOUGH THAT YOU LET THEM DROPSHIP FROM ASIA AND USE AMERICAN ADDRESSES BUT NOW WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM AS BUYERS AS WELL. 😵💫

Eh, I don't know why I'm so upset at them, I just won an Auction for 1.00 where the Chinese Dude at Amazon slapped a Chrysler Sticker on a Ford Product and nobody could figure it out 😂 except for meee. MSRP 300+. Dumb Summas. The part # was on the box too.
