    Feedback?

How do you get people to leave feedback? Out of probably 3,600 things we have sold, only 1,200 have left feedback.

Buyers don't have to leave Feedback.  I only have about 25% of my buyers that leave it.   It doesn't affect your rating or sellers account.   I just send the buyer a short note when I mail their item and  let them know it's on the way and thank them.    I usually leave Feedback after they leave Feedback for me.

Giving the buyer positive feedback after receiving payment encourages some to do the same for you.  And I enclose a packing slip with purchases; along with the specifics of the sale, there’s a pre-typed short, friendly note  from me thanking them.  I think it helps with reciprocity.

Don't worry about getting feedback. Sales are more important.

Agree with most others if you are getting about 30% feedback that is pretty good. Mine has dropped off considerably over the years. It used to be about 80% now it is less than 20%.

You can buy labels to place on the packing slip, etc. that state nicely to please remember to leave positive feedback. Many variations out there.

The Best Feedback is another Purchase. Get that at 33% and you won't need to worry about anything else

Your feedback rate is pretty good. I wouldn't poke the customers too much about leaving feedback......you might receive a random feedback rating that will not be pleasant. Just provide good service & don't worry too much about feedback.

    Hang in there!

    That's about normal.

And based on my 25 years of experience here, it has always been about normal.

My FB is slightly better than that, but I have a demographic that skews older (and perhaps politer) and more important I leave feedback on shipment.

Out of recent batches of items, for me it's one in ten at best.

It drops at every feedback change. Next to no one wants to leave a story so feedback dropped. And who wants to leave pictures. It will drop again.

When a local shop wanted feedback all they had was a simple touchscreen selection - smiley face or not smiling face. Maybe numbers leaving feedback would increase if it was simplified like that.

    33% isn't bad at all .... I'm running ~50% w/ ~2800 sold & ~1350 FB (i'm short of 50% but there is always a delay between sale & FB so round up)

The nearly 50% tends to go with your territory.  Lot of old time eBay buyers that provide feedback as tradition.

Plus I am sure ajs does a bang up job.

I like to throw a Thank you note in the package thanking them for the purchase and if it arrived in good condition to please leave feedback. Since doing this I would have to say our feed back has increased by more then 50%.

I've always considered FB as a way to keep score.

And then,   There's all those years we were programmed to

consider FB the be all, and end all to ebay.

Feedback is like S&H Green Stamps (I'm showing my age).

You can redeem them for fabulous prizes.

There's a revival of Les Belles-Soeurs playing in Toronto just now.

The play tells about a group of women, mostly sisters-in-law, who gather to put a million green stamps into the books when one of them wins them in a contest.

If they weren't i n the books they could not be redeemed

Hence, the green tongue, until we switched to sponges. I was just an ankle-biter in those days, but remember shoeboxes full of those danged things and sitting there with those little booklets and that smell.

My feedback % has gone up with the holiday season. It is at about 45% of my buyers. It is nice to see customers happy with the items and service they receive.

One third of your buyers are leaving you positive feedback. That's great. Years and years ago I was getting over 40%. Now I'm surprised when I see one.

As of today,   On this account I've left over 10,000 more FB than I've received.

I've (So far)  received 60-65%     of what I've given.

33% is great for what is box in/box out sales of branded retail product.

Well beyond the people who respond to online surveys on the bottom of a cash register receipt.

Let me just agree with others that 33% is WAY above what I'd guess is the overall average for sellers.   I run between 25-30% and definitely consider myself lucky/blessed.

    Keep up the great work!

Sometimes no news is good news. Careful what you ask for. Once you get that first negative feedback you might think differently. Some buyers who buy a lot usually don't bother with feedback or the buyers who are big spenders. I usually don't leave feedback first for big spenders for I want to make sure all was fine. The little spenders I leave feedback first and they are my "bread and butter" for getting more feedback.

I list some cheap items...99 cents with free shipping to get that feedback up just in case if a negative feedback pops up. I also get those "new eBayers" who need feedback and they will buy something for 2 bucks from me. Its the "cheapie" buyers who leave feedback for me. My high end buyers usually don't leave feedback where they might buy 30 or 40 items at one time for me. I sure wish I got that feedback.

Realistically,  you don't need anymore feedback. Your FB is solid as it is. 33% is a solid number. Feedback is slowly moving towards being a relic. Perhaps soon to be buried by dust.

You don't.  Emailing them and asking them is not a good idea.  It is a voluntary system, so if they don't leave it on their own, you just need to move on.  Asking them to leave FB can upset them and they could take it out on your FB.  Ebay reminds buyers to leave FB [unless they have it turned off in their Site Preferences].

I know it is hard to wait.  But it is in your best interest to do so.  For me, it is likely less than 20% of my buyers leave FB anymore.

buyers have no real reason to leave feedback

33% seems like a good amount.

I feel that I am a good seller. I run less than 20%

Often suggested........................... no feedback.................. is good feedback .............  as many are now only inclined to leave feedback when less than satisfied with the transaction.
