Just wondering what others think about the changes Ebay will be implementing (forcing) in regards to clothing and shoe categories. I don't sell a lot of clothing, but it seems like this may be annoying to people that do. I sometimes sell vintage clothing, and those sizes can be/are so completely different to the "supported" sizes eBay wants to see used. I admit I haven't looked at the changes in depth, but my initial reaction is why? Like the endless item specifics nonsense ... it doesn't matter what my search terms are, I never get listings that match those specifics exactly. Another someone somewhere thinking this needed to be done, but in my opinion, it doesn't.

·2 weeks agoMy concern is that I sell bras, I mainly focus on big sizes and cups .
The updated size options do not include several cup sizes that I regularly sell, such as K, L, M, N, and O cups. Because these sizes are not available in the new size chart, I am unable to accurately list these bras.
Could you please advise how sellers are supposed to list bras in these larger cup sizes? Will these cup sizes be added to the new sizing options?
It is important that we are able to select the actual size shown on the manufacturer's label so buyers can find the correct size and sellers can list their inventory accurately.
Somebody have the authority to let eBay know about this?

·2 weeks ago · EditedIt is crazy how different vintage sizes can be compared to modern sizes. I just got a message from eBay about this. If I put in a vintage size, someone who wear a modern size with the same number or letter designation might buy it of course and it won't fit them, so I leave usually the size blank, and put in precise measurements relevant to the specific type of garment.
The most glaring thing about it is that clothing sizes not based on measurements are literally meaningless. Requiring people to state a shirt is a size "medium" is literally meaningless because "medium" has no standard definition by anyone, and may not even have a standard definition by the same manufacturer.
Requiring actual measurements would be a far, far better way to reduce returns and increase customer satisfaction (and would reduce returns and drama for sellers as well.)

OP2 weeks agoYeah - a size medium in one brand can fit like a large in another brand, and visa versa.

·2 weeks agoWell, I've run out of vintage clothing now but I've sold a lot of it, and vintage size categories have IS's that are more flexible than contemporary - I just convert the vintage sizing to the contemporary range - it's tough to find much of anything without having the item specifics, though, so it's better to complete them. I put the vintage size and the contemporary estimate in the title.

OP2 weeks agoOh, I'm not saying there shouldn't be any item specifics, but in some categories, the amount of information eBay wants to see provided borders on the ridiculous, and/or is impossible to know.

·2 weeks agoI don't bother with more obscure IS's - if they're not required to launch a listing, I don't worry about it.
