false claim from buyer
Buyer purchased 100 anniversary statue of liberty card with a 14k coin. Coin is tiny, its a commemorative collectible. They received it and claim it was not as described,which is false. I think that they thought this is easy money then received it, actually 15 of them, and realized it isn't what they thought. I wanted to speak with someone at ebay and can not get in touch with anyone, did the automated thing at least 3 times, they called me and my phone didn't ring, cant call them back. is it really this necessary to talk make it so difficult to talk to somoene. I have to be missing something because i see contact us 24/7 all over the sight. finally posted here, this is my 2nd post because i can't find the first one, lol. why does it all have to be so hard? i don't even know if I'm in the right place but one more try. I've been with ebay since 1990something i can count on one hand how many times i reached out for help.what am i missing?

·7 months agoUnderstand that there are no final sale items on Ebay in most categories.
Returns are part of being a retailer and you are going to get returns. If Ebay tightens the rules, buyers will lie to get around them.
Save yourself a prolonged period of aggravation and a huge waste of your time. You cannot win a dispute when the buyer claims INAD. Contacting Ebay is useless, especially in cases like this. Resolve any return issues as quickly as possible, and spend the time you save buying and listing more product.

·7 months agoIf the buyer has filed an INAD, I wouldn't get Ebay involved until the items are returned.

·7 months agoI see no reason to try to contact ebay. I would merely pick the option on the not as described return that provides the buyer with a return label and issue a refund upon return.
When you relist, I would put more information in about the size of the coin, including a close up with some measurement tool. I know you feel it was as described, but I didn't see much information offered about the coin itself.

·7 months agoUnfortunately the answer you received there is the only answer for a NAD return. Accept the return, refund when they come back. If you do not, eBay will refund the buyer and let them keep the items. Best you can do is report the buyer for abusing the MBG.
Calling eBay CS is futile, if they even understand your problem they will just give you the closest best answer on their list to get you off the phone.
ETA I can see just from the thumbnail the coin is smaller than my pinky tip. They must have thought the sheet was huge lol..

·7 months agoTo get callback from EBAY, you need to change your phone settings, otherwise EBAY calls will not ring. Go to your phone settings and cancel "block unknown callers".
EBAY 30-Day Money Back Guarantee (supersedes "no refund" policy) allows to customer to lie and claim "not as described, counterfeit, missing parts, defective". EBAY does NOT require customers to "prove their claims. EBAY Automated System will force you to refund (purchase price + shipping BOTH ways).

·7 months agoIn all reality, the "....which is false...." narrative will not fly even with human intervention. Has the buyer filed an INAD through ebay?
If so, it is completely automated, and there will be no human intervention despite what you "may" get told on the phone.
You can fight it if you want, but if the item(s) is/are resellable, just approve the return and resell it. It is much easier on your psyche and wallet.
p.s.....get rid of that silly AI description and DESCRIBE this cool collectible in detail. Nowhere did I see the descrptive word "tiny" (for example) to describe the comm. coin....
p.s.s.....the wannabe buyer thought he could resell them thinking "gold"..,I do not know if a precious metal return is handled the same as a "normal" return, so there "may" be some leverage...but I am not positive
