Experienced Sellers Question good idea?Delete all listings, relist next day when have free listing?
Shake things up by ending all the listings for 1 day, Next day relist them?
Or forget the free listings one has & just keep listings as they are basically showing on the eBay
marketplace doing nothing on eBay with watchers & hits but not sales?
We used to have a limited number of days to sell but now with good until cancelled no real urgency to purchase…

·3 years agoI do it, but not all listings at once, and sometimes they stay down for a little bit before I put them up again. Often when I have stuff that's a little stale, I end them but when they go up, I sell similar and put lower prices to try and attract attention.

·3 years agoIf you do it, don't select "relist" but rather "sell similar". Then it thinks it's a completely new item. I don't have to worry about insertion fees because I have a store subscription, but I do notice a boost in views and sales every time I do a big round of end/sell similar'ing. And I don't necessarily wait for an item to get 30 days old either. Lots of people say it's a false result, all I know is it appears to work for me.

·3 years agoYes there is, before someone else purchases it. Just like selling pretty much has been traditionally.
I would not chop and change your listings that quickly - it gives them no time to propagate through outside search engines. I go in 90 day cycles but others do things differently. As said upthread, re-jigging them is a good idea, also.

·3 years agoNo, I don't think so. Maybe take a specific category or a few items, end, and relist them.
Take new pictures and update some of the items in smaller groups every day.

·3 years agoI'm assuming you are only talking 'buy it now' (as those listings are 'good till cancelled')- but the concept behind that 'GTC' is that Google will pick up that 'thing' by 'search words' and show that item; and when that item no longer exists, a buyer is shown "not available" which to me, would be worse.
I don't believe in 'shaking it up' and I don't think the algorithm does anything different with items just because they are "new".
If a buyer sorts by 'newest first' then your 'new' listing would show higher; but I don't know if the trade off of not having your item available in a search engine anymore- is worth it.
The graph shows about 50% of items 'viewed' are from 'outside ebay'; meaning a search engine.
