Effectiveness of “Sales†vs. Reducing Prices
My wife has a store on eBay too, and she wants to attract more customers (she sells personal care products). She wants to go through the store, and reduce prices one at a time, and rely on eBay’s system that will generate a message to customers who have favorited the item.
I suggested actually creating a percentage-off sale, so when customers browse the store they’ll see the regular price with a cross out and the sale price. That way they know which items have been put on sale.
I’d like to know what your experience has been, and which method might attract more attention? Thanks everyone!

Ditto this. I have had solid results when pricing to win. I check each product against the competition and price accordingly to gain sales.
If I have no competition on a particular item, I check other internet pricing for comparables. Can also use the research tool in Seller Hub to get an idea of what the item may have sold for in the past on eBay.

Sounds like she wants to permanently reduce prices, where your suggestion of a sale would be temporary.

Best thing to do is experiment....in my opinion
