Ebay's error in shipping label cost. How to contact them
Summary: muffit expressed concern over a $2.00 discrepancy in a USPS shipping label cost, seeking a refund. shire123 noted recent rate fluctuations, while caldreamer pointed out a $2 surcharge for rural addresses. mam98031 and groovz4u explained that a recent USPS rate update might have caused confusion, affecting rural shipments differently. Some participants questioned free shipping policies and mentioned difficulty in contacting eBay for similar issues. Others advised contacting the USPS directly for resolution.

·Sep 16, 2026 at 2:18 PMThis happened to me as well, usually 40% discount but one day it was only 10% discount on USPS the same as it would be at USPS website click in ship discount. I started a ticket but have not heard back. Thank you for posting this !!

·1 month agoI had the same thing happen to me today. I checked a package I shipped a few weeks ago & saw it would cost ~ $2 more to same zip. The eBay announcement made it sound like there would be a rate decrease for 2 lb (and less I assumed) GA packages but there's actually been an increase. The announcement is very misleading in my opinion and failed to alert sellers of an increase in shipping costs.

·1 month agoAre you staying up to date on USPS rate increases? A VERY important thing for sellers to do. There was another increase for GA late last month that likely answers your concern with the cost of your label.

·1 month agoYou should also worry about Copyright Infringement if you don't have a license to use these pro teams logos as what you are doing is against the law, but go ahead and worry about $2.00.

·1 month agoThat should have cost you $5.50+/- to $7.50+/- depending on destination. What did you pay that you think was too much?

·1 month agoIf your customer is located in a rural area USPS charges them extra $2 surcharge.

·1 month agoWouldnt eBay have the correct zip codes to charge the BUYER at the time of purchase for the shipping fees?

They do but that won't help if you are using Flat-Rate or Free Shipping.

OP1 month agoReally?? How rural? I offer free shipping, think I'll have to stop that. Can't afford to loose $2.00 on an order

·1 month agoYou won’t get any refund. Why do you think it was higher than it was supposed to be?
Did you realize that usps ga shipping has been all over the place this last few months?

OP1 month agoYes, I know the rates have increased, I'm an experienced seller. I checked postage for and identical item sent to the identical address.
