Ebay wants to be amazon. But does amazon want to be the real ebay at all?
For some reason ebay wants to be amazon. However there is no chance in the world ebay could ever be amazon. No warehouses, no inventory, no workers to fill orders, etc.
Also is almost anybody going on ebay for Toilet paper & that type stuff?
HOWEVER
Does anyone really go on amazon for stuff like antiques, collectibles, etc etc etc.
Amazon & ebay may each sell that type of item but do people really go to those sites for them?
Maybe instead of jumping through hoops to be amazon, ebay should more focus on being EBAY!
ebay wants amazons revenues & stock value without any of amazons expenditures!
ebay should go backwards a little to go forward.
Not saying ebay should not take the toilet paper type sales.
HOWEVER
FOCUS on the stuff that took you to the dance!
There is more than enough of a pie for that!
Target, amazon, walmart etc are NOT actively trying to sell that vintage ALF Doll or that Vintage Silver Spoon you need for your set to be complete.
Remember ebay SELLERS are your customers! SELLERS pay the bills. SELLERS provide the inventory. Why do you keep trying to be amazon? You can never & will never be!

·3 years agoeBay could split into both a flea-market and a new items retailer. That has been their issue for many years. they can't seem to decide just what kind of retailer they want to be.

·3 years agoEbay 3rd PARTY RE-SELLER = takes your money for an item (you purchased from them) they listed here on ebay they don't own or stock, then that ebay seller goes to Amazon (a.k.a shipping partner) to find another 3rd Party Re-Seller at amazon and then Amazon mails it to you up to 8 to 10 days later sometimes weeks as seen on the tracking number provided !!
If I wanted to put up AMAZON 3rd Party CRAP I would have went to Amazon in which I avoid
ONLY TO GET THE DOUBLE WAMMY here on Ebay now with 6 PARTY re-seller TOTAL
Why does ebay allow this, BEWARE when you see USA location on the listing and China location on the feedback location for this is what to expect! Kinda like a self-destruction of ebay (Anybody what to buy the Brooklyn Bridge, I'm sure ebay is allowing that to be listed for its easy to list something you don't own on ebay)
ISSUE BESIDES DECEPTIVE PRACTICE that ebay allows and doesn't care, it takes way longer to get your ebay purchased item to your door by the listing posted timeline, sometime weeks !
1st party = ebay
2nd party = ebay lister or seller
3rd party = amazon where the ebay 2nd party seller seeks and finds item you purchased from ebay
4th party = amazon lister or seller
5th party = amazon 4th party seller seek and finds the item supplier
6th party = YOU the buyer from ebay receiving your purchase from amazon 8 to 10 days later if your lucky
EBAY go back as you use to be, a media for a ebay item listing owner of the listed item to sell direct to the ebay buyer

·5 years agoMy cousin used to own a really great restaurant. It was packed every night and he was making a fortune. He got married to someone who was really into status and she wanted him to sell the restaurant and create another one (haute cuisine) in a better part of town. He took his wife's advice (nagging), and it was a flop. He was out of business in his new restaurant within a few months, and was totally bankrupt within two year. Of course, his loving wife didn't stick around for that. Sometimes it's better to leave well enough alone.
