eBay users need to have a valid phone number on file
So Im having this issue, when try to list an item or buy or even bid on an item this error come up:
"To help provide a safe trading environment, eBay users need to have a valid phone number on file. Please verify or update your phone number. For more details, see our article on updating your personal information.{e178572-1238869x}"
My phone number is already verified, I even bought brand new phone number and updated it with it but the same problem, contacted eBay support several times but they were useless honestly .
anyone have any clue on this one. or it is just an ebay glitch. thanks

·1 year agoYeah and some people even forget(or have convenient memory loss) to update their personal ship to address as they "nomad" from place to place - heck only had 21 different mailing addresses since graduating college in '67. Been at this one since 1996 (before eBay time) - got my second telephone # on a Nokia flip phone in 1998 - still have the same two contact #s

OP3 years agoproblem solved, ebay support figure out the issue and solved it after many contact for 12 days, thank you guys

·2 years agoI ask for your help, please. My account is a sales account, and we use it to support our household, and we are having the same problem as you were. And we've been trying to resolve it with eBay for days, and they don't know how to resolve it. Can you, out of charity, tell us how you solved the problem?

·3 years agoSelling those fake banners, you probably won't have to worry about selling very long.
Is it a real phone number and not like a Google or Text Now number.

·3 years agoI'm wondering if you are putting in too many numbers like the country code and the ebay system does not accept so many numbers. In the USA, the format is 1-800-xxx-xxx. There is a 1 in front. The 800 would be the zipcode. See if you can shorten your number to fit this format.

·3 years agoZip codes in the US are 9 digits, not 3. One's phone number does not have anything to do with their mailing address.

OP3 years agoI'm registered in Algeria, my account was totally fine, I bough couple items before, this happened suddenly without any notice

OP3 years agoI click edit and I can only update phone number, I did that, same issue

·3 years agoAre you using the full number including Country Code?
Is it a mobile phone or a landline? Normally these days only phone numbers than receive SMS (text) can be verified.
