So not only did they take away custom variations, they will begin hiding the listings from when custom sizes were still allowed. As a baby clothing seller, I don't know what on earth I am supposed to do with my existing inventory. I risk SNAD if I use the sizes ebay wants to force me to use since the garments are clearly labeled otherwise. Ebay only offers 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, 9-12, 12-18, and 18-24 months as options now. Many brands use 6-12 months instead of 6-9 and 9-12, and many brands use totally different sizing, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24 months. These are big clothing brands. I don't understand why Ebay is doing this and what am I supposed to do?

·4 months agoI would drop variation listings completely. Customers don't like them and you get much more exposure in search by listing each size and color separately.
You can also put the manufacturer sizing in a custom item specific as well as the title.

OP4 months agoI get that there are cons to variation listings but it does keep down the number of free store listings per month. At this point I will probably just switch to individual listings for the ones with the affected sizes and decide on the non affected ones later on.

Two days ago I was listing a ladies shirt. It was a 1X. The preset sizing for plus sizes started at a 2X and the regular sizing only went up to XL. I was unable to put in a 1X. Stupid to say the least.

Try again. I'm seeing 1X under the Plus category.

Well how silly….the plus sizes start with 2X on eBay….then on row 3 at the end there is a 1x..that is “logical”

·4 months agoIsn't 1X and XL the same size? It is in mens.

No, not the same.
XL is Regular sizing, while 1X is Plus sizing.
The difference between Regular and Plus is in the proportions.
Size XL has the same proportions as a size Small, only larger in every measurement.
Size 1X has different proportions.

No it is not, but apparently eBay doesn’t know the difference.

OP4 months agoWell at this point I am trying to fix my listing and getting so frustrated, this change clearly was decided on by someone with zero knowledge of clothing sizes. For the single listings I can pick the closest size in item specifics and put the true size in the title and description and hope for the best, nothing else I can do really. But I have a ton of listings with size variations and I am at a loss what I can do other than take them down and make individual listings for each size. What a mess. 😞
