Sorry for your situation. As others have stated eBay is cracking down with sellers who may be selling stolen merchandise with a brand new account. My suggestions is to give eBay what they're asking for if you want your account re instated. eBay didn't steal your money. Your money is on hold and if you can't provide those receipts, it can be held for up to 6 months & will eventually be released to your states unclaimed funds dept. Suggestion? Sell those item locally for cash.
Good luck to you!

·2 years agoDabur, it is a bad idea to accuse a company of theft, while also requesting their assistance in resolving an issue.

·2 years agoNonsense, eBay never asks anyone for receipts for where someone got something they are selling, that's ridiculous.

They do it all the time but by the time it's gotten that far the account is usually toast. Selling counterfeit goods or stolen property is within the realm of what some people are willing to do for money. EBay follows the law about such matters and if they have a tiny bit of evidence leading to suspicion they go for the jugular. With counterfeit goods or copyright infringement the real owner of said product is often involved.

They have been asking some sellers for receipts for the item's they are selling.
Trying to cut down on stolen items being sold here.

Yes, they do. All the time especially when the account looks suspicious. For instance a brand new seller, selling brand new iPhones in multiples & they are located in a city or area that has ports. It's very obvious those phones were stolen, either from a brick and mortar store or off of the docks of the ports. It's epidemic on eBay and glad they are finally addressing this issue. My guess the law leaned on eBay as well, hard.
Happy Selling

·2 years agoPerhaps you could send eBay documents from the will that shows how they became yours?
Were they actually part of the estate or just divvied up and taken? If the former, they should be legally accounted for in a will. If the later, the will was not adjudicated above board and taxes may be owed. Could even be a family dispute going on... is everything hunky dory with the kin relationships? Was the will contested?

·2 years agoYou can write something saying the item was inherited.
Your account has serious issues and I dont think getting a receipt is going to help.
You sold the same item twice (?) and have a negative and neutral FB.
3 FB - 1 negative and 1 neutral ... All seen to point to bigger issues.
I would try responding that you inherited the item. Its not new so it may work but ....

There could be a lot of reasons the same item is showing as sold twice. It was the item they received the negative feedback on so I am wondering if the first buyer returned the item for a refund and the OP resold it. Or possibly the first buyer did not pay for the item, who knows.
Totally agree OP is at risk with regards to their account and although we can't see the seller metrics I am guessing they are not good and their seller rating may be below average and part of what triggered the review.

·2 years agoOf course you can see the seller's metrics (or anyone's metrics for that matter) by going to advanced search and entering the exact account name

·2 years agoNo you can't.
You can see feedback and seller ratings, but that's not their seller metrics.

Actually you can't. What you can see is feedback what you cannot see are the following.
