eBay steals from the sellers
eBay not only takes 15% of the sale price and steals 15% of my shipping cost, but they also steal my money by taking 15% of the taxes the customer pays, not from the customer, but they steal that from me too!!! Why is eBay so unethical, so greedy, and a thief????

·11 months agoI would remove all my listings and never do business again with a company I thought was stealing from me. Why do you still have listings up if that is your belief??

·11 months agoUsing your exact same logic, you have also stolen money from your buyer. eBay stole money from you to allow you to sell on their site just like you stole money from your buyer just to send them an item. Why are you “so unethical, so greedy, and a thief????â€
PS. You also stole food from the last restaurant you dined at, and the restaurant stole money from you for it. And you just stole five minutes of my life having to write this post.

We all know that anytime a seller complains about eBay but still continues to sell here, that seller knows that they get better worldwide exposure and more sales than if selling on some of the other sites.
Is that why you continue to sell here? Because you know that you won't get the sales you do on other sites?

·11 months agoWhy do you continue to sell on Ebay if you don't agree to terms when you submit a listing and have these personal beliefs? Everything is in the policy which you agreed to. Ebay charges those fees because they can. They do all the work collecting the tax money from the buyers. You as a seller don't have to do anything as far as sales tax.

Accusing someone of stealing is a very serious matter. Before doing that, you should actually find out if you are correct. What evidence do you have that they are stealing? None I would suspect.
Before you started selling, I assume you did your homework and learned what it was going to cost to you sell on the site by learning all about Selling Fees. Surely you wouldn't have just jumped on the site, learned enough to list an item and then just wing it! That wouldn't be an advisable thing to do, right !!!!

A seller needs to recover ALL of their selling costs and their expected profit percentage or amount from the buyers.

·11 months agoYou need to learn what the word “steal†means. It’s when something is taken from you without your permission. You gave eBay permission when you agreed to their terms of being a seller. Therefore, nothing was stolen from you regardless of how often you use that word.

·11 months agoExplore what it would cost you for a service to calculate the sales tax for all jurisdictions in the US, and how much time you would waste filing sales tax returns online. And the penalties you would pay if you paid the tax late.
Ebay's FVF on sales tax could be a bargain.

·11 months agoEbay tells you the rules to use their platform up front. If you disagree at any time, you are free to stop using the platform. You are not forced to use it. Stop pretending to be a victim.

When I list I know pretty much what the "fees" will be.
Slight variation with the different sales tax %ages, but other than that............ (oh wait... sometimes a small international fee)

·11 months agoAre these fees not built into your prices? EVERY business has all kinds of overhead fees, and in the end the customer should pay them. It's on YOU to account for everything when setting the price. No one's going to give you a hug because you feel it's all "unethical".

"Final value fees
We charge one final value fee when your item sells, and you don't have to worry about third-party payment processing fees. This fee is calculated as a percentage of the total amount of the sale, plus a per order fee. For orders $10.00 or less the per order fee is $0.30, for orders over $10.00 the per order fee is $0.40.
The total amount of the sale includes the item price, any handling charges, any shipping costs collected from the buyer (some exceptions apply), sales tax, and any other applicable fees.
An order is defined as any number of items purchased by the same buyer at checkout with the same shipping method."

·11 months agoThey, eBay, does steal money from sellers, and has unethical practices, like collecting money from the buyer, that is suppose to go to the gov’t for taxes, and then charging someone else a 15% fee on the funds that our gov’t is suppose to get, and keeping that 15% fee for themselves.

Okay, you do realize that you are free to operate on other platforms that conform more to your high moral standards.
But as far as I know, they all charge roughly the same fees on the total, taxes included.

Ebay collects and remits sales taxes to all of the taxing entities such as state county, township, etc.
I suspect that fee helps cover the cost of payroll and overhead rather than stock purchases.
