eBay sided with buyer and refunded them even though there is tracking?
I sold a few keychains to buyer and shipping was delayed, I'm not sure why, maybe something to do with weather. However, I used tracking and the tracking said it was on the way to him, it was just arriving late.
He contacts eBay support, they fully refund him no questions asked because they "couldn't prove delivery"... how could I prove delivery once it's shipped? Can they not just look at the tracking number and see it's on the way??? I feel cheated. It's not much money, like $15, but it's just the principal. I feel like eBay is way to quick to side with the buyer.

·6 months agoWhen customer opens "did not receive" item case, you must provide tracking# proving item was delivered. If not, you must give customer a "refund" before EBAY deadline.
EBAY has new policy, if item delivered 30-days after you "voluntarily give customer a refund" EBAY will reimbursement the money to you. That is assuming your account is in good standing and you gave customer a refund before EBAY deadline (and without EBAY having to "step in").

How long ago did you sell those keychains? What does the order show as the estimated delivery date (EDD)?
If that date has passed, the buyer is within their rights (and ebay policy) to open a claim for non-receipt.
"On its way" does NOT equal delivered and if there's no "delivered" notice in the tracking info, the buyer didn't received it in ebay's eyes.
When the buyer filed their claim, did you respond to it with the tracking number? Or did you just ignore it, assuming ebay would look at the order and see the tracking number? You MUST respond to the case.
If you respond and they check tracking, they will often allow a bit more time for delivery to take place.
Please post the tracking number.

·6 months agoEBay has always been quick to side with the buyer. If the item shows delivered on the USPS website then eBay will give your money back to you, but unfortunately you'll have to contact eBay and deal with their stupidity first. If you have the will and time you will eventually get your money back.

How "delayed" are we talking? Days? Weeks?
I'm surprised they stepped in and refunded it quickly, if it was only a few days late. I'm assuming they refunded out of your pocket, and you didn't get any fees back? Did eBay reach out to you on this, and did you take any action? If they had initiated a INR and you didn't respond right away, that would also account for this.
