And the link to the Promoted Stores section works now 😂 Also looks to be the same as what I pasted above from the Australia update.

OP6 months agoUpdates are now live for UK and Germany - and both include increases to the fixed per order fee and FVF increases for some categories:

Bad news for the people in those markets who rationalized the new Promoted Listings attribution model by saying it was preferable to a FVF increase. 🤑

·6 months agoI would not put it past them, but it would seem odd if eBay raises the FVF and order fee.
The shipping rates are going up for USPS after going up for the holidays. eBay is certainly getting a built in increase with each carrier increase.
Those increases, along with the sponsored listing changes seems like it would account for a good increase.
Like I said, I would be surprised, but it seems like it is going to accelerate the loss of some items and some sellers. Maybe that is the goal.

OP6 months ago@golfingaddict sorry for any confusion but I agree, I don't expect them to raise FVF or per order fees here in the US, at least not with this update.
I suppose there's always a tiny chance that part of yesterday's early publishing snafu was that they didn't include all the changes, but I think that's unlikely, and notably the Australia update didn't include fee changes either.
I just meant that last year as eBay announced the ad attribution changes for various markets, I saw more than a few sellers justify/rationalize and begrudgingly accept it as it was "better than a FVF increase" since using Promoted Listings is still technically optional - but with this update we can see that hasn't worked out so well for sellers in the UK and Germany and sellers in other markets may find themselves in the same boat in a few months time even if not with this specific update.

·6 months agoI wasn't confused, just stating my opinion on the built in FVF increase that eBay gets every time they raise the carrier rates.
I realized that you showed AU and Germany.
You don't have to tag me for me to read responses.

·6 months ago@valueaddedresource: didn't the US already get the "fixed per order fee" increase?
Looking at the UK only, it looks like the category FVFs are limited to a very few categories...If something similar comes here, I think the seller unhappiness will be somewhat limited, with those not selling in those categories probably just breathing a sigh of relief and going back to whatever they were doing.
But the larger point: If ebay can't goose ad revenue sufficiently with this most recent attribution change and their push for store ads, they won't hesitate to increase other fees.

OP6 months ago@my-cottage-books-and-antiques yep US and Canada got the same per order fee increase in 2024.
Agree, the FVF impact for the UK is minimal but the list for Germany is longer and also more confusing - in some cases the base FVF isn't changing but the threshold amount for that base rate is being lowered and then the amount for anything over that threshold is going up.
Bottom line, German sellers are going to need to get out their calculators to figure out what impact it will actually have on them.

OP6 months agoWell I'm guessing that the US update will be re-posted tomorrow since they published the Australia update this evening and usually that happens the day before everywhere else.
https://www.ebay.com.au/sellercentre/aussie-seller-news/january-2026
And assuming the section on Promoted Stores Custom is going to be the same for US as it is for Australia, it looks like it might include the ability to have these ads direct buyers to curated collections, influencer pages (Ambassador affiliate storefronts?), and eBay Live events.

·6 months ago@valueaddedresource I don't see anything about the ad Attribution change on the Announcement page, but I see they finally posted a message about it at the top of Seller Hub and the Advertising page in Seller Hub, with a link to the original announcement:
We’ve updated our Promoted Listings program
We’ve made two important updates to our Promoted Listings program for items listed on ebay.com, ebay.ca, and cafr.ebay.ca.

·6 months agoThey've had a similar banner up there for at least a month (maybe longer) that said changes to ad fees were coming.
my-cottage-books-and-antiques
·6 months agoYes, which I noticed was gone yesterday. Now we have this one replacing it. Two ads team members had suggested in interviews that they might make changes to some of the reporting provisions before the rule took effect, but the link is to an unchanged version of the original announcement

OP6 months agoLOL and now the main URL has been taken down too....guessing they weren't planning on releasing it today and someone just hit publish too early. 🙃

Or maybe an annual increase in system activity experienced during this period has caused processing delays.

·6 months ago@valueaddedresource ebay : starting the New Year off in a typical, magical ebay way.
At ebay, the Magic Word isn't "Abracadabra", it's "Oops!"

OP6 months ago@my-cottage-books-and-antiques once again, we are all the lost little boy...or is eBay the lost little boy in this scenario unable to find their way out of their own hoodie? 😂

·6 months agoThe "devil parka kid" used to be funny because we'd run into that screen so often, and the help pages were no help trying to get through to CS.
Now the image is pretty much irrelevant because while an error page does pop up occasionally, it's not all the time like it was before, and now it's so easy to report a tech issue with the ? that there's no need to go through the help pages for a tech problem.
Thought I'd post the image one last time just for fun. You can tell how old it is by the fact the search bar is squared off. hah
Edit: I can spell.

Hey @valueaddedresource! Thank you for letting us know and we have shared this with our Product team to update.
valueaddedresource
OP7 months ago@my-cottage-books-and-antiques a premature publish with broken links....that's so eBay, right? 😂
And yeah, considering how often these news update having included reminders/not really new things in the past....the lack of anything about the Promoted Listings General attribution changes is very telling indeed.
Guessing they are going with the "don't poke the bear" strategy and hoping for the best.

·7 months ago@valueaddedresource Thanks for posting that!
The Fashion Fund will be good news for a select few sellers I'm guessing. I can safely ignore it. (And, just an aside, a respected fashion blogger recently pointed out that "sustainability" is actually very low on the list of reasons for buyers to buy secondhand, and she indicated clothing sellers would be better off leaning into marketing based on other factors: quality, selection, price, etc.)
And I see the Ads Team has been so busy adding the customization element to Store promotions that they forgot to include a reminder about the major attribution rule taking effect in their much larger ad product, general ad campaigns.
And even so, we have the little lost boy for now....LOL Guess I'll check back later to see what excitement there is in store advertising.
(after all, it wouldn't be an ebay announcement if there wasn't a glitch in the announcement somewhere. I've spent over 20 years trying to explain "proofreading" to ebay, to no avail LOL)
