Worst October on record for me. Kinda expected it with all the updates to pls and search. Went from sending multiple offers an hour to about 3 a day now and they just go to a blank screen after sending. But on the bright side I bought an RV and am getting ready to hit the road fulltime. Been dreaming of this for a while now.
I moved in late August, moved into a new place in mid September, and got really sick the evening I first moved in and was out for weeks. I listed almost nothing new in that time, and had sales here and there in that time frame, but nothing consistent. The past few days, I've finally been able to start photographing and listing my massive pile of new items. Suddenly, I went from sales here and there, to at least one sale a day, if not more than that, just on eBay alone.
What you put in is what you get out of it. Sales are a bit slower because people right now seem to be wanting to spend as little as they can and some categories may not be as important to the buyers right now to purchase. Honestly, that's not unlike how the past several years have gone, every year it's always the "economy" and for years to come, I imagine it will still be a reason. But it doesn't mean you can't still have great sales this month and deeper into Q4 and beyond.
I've been having very good sales across two accounts.
And I've been doing everything wrong. No new listings for many months, no coupons, not lowering prices (in fact I've raised some), no promotions, no stores, no offers sent.
I guess I have items that buyers want, at a price they are willing to pay.
For a few months now, many Americans will not buy from eBay sellers who are not in the United States. Such as sellers who are in Cameroon.
We Americans are now required to pay additional import charges (aka "tariffs" and "taxes") on things that are imported into the USA because of the, um, policies of our current federal government.
In addition, our federal government is currently shut down. Every day there is another announcement of employees being furloughed or laid off, and programs (like early childhood education programs) being closed down. This is causing a great deal of economic uncertainty for many Americans.
No complaints here, especially since the store was closed for three weeks after my leg injury and then another week when I was in the hospital for something else. Rough month health wise. I allowed sales and my web staff took care of the ebay store.

·10 months agoSales are good here. Up 6.1% from the previous month. YTD I'm up 4.1% with over five figure per month volume, and it's just me working from home.

·10 months agoBetween a walkout and then rotating strikes by Canada Post, shipping has been fraught.
Canadian buyer have been cautious.
And then tariffs.
And the loss of the de minimus. Even the pre-Biden $200 duty free allowance looks good.
Sales to the US have dropped off, I'm waiting to see if the introduction of eISCanada will make it viable.
On the other hand, my sales overseas remain stable to strong.
November and December are normally my low sales period, based on 25 years with eBay and over 40 years in the stamp business.
So I'm getting ready for Boxing Day which is usually the start of my strongest sales period.
