eBay return shipping label cost
Summary: rickerroo expressed frustration with eBay's return process, noting that they had to pay a higher cost for a return shipping label through eBay, despite having a cheaper option through their own UPS account. They found it difficult to upload their own tracking number and had to contact customer service for assistance. mam98031 suggested this may occur in cases of a Buyer's Remorse Return Claim or when sellers handle returns for items not as described.
I recently had to return an item that required me to pay the return shipping cost. eBay states you can provide your own shipping label for returns but they do not provide an easy way to upload your own tracking number. Once I started my return the only option eBay gave me was to purchase shipping labels from them and they were three times the amount that I could ship the item for using my own UPS account. I followed all eBays instructions and asked their virtual assistant but could not find a way to upload my own tracking number. I eventually had to talk to eBay customer service to have them upload my tracking number to the return. I have had this happen before and I wish eBay would make it easier to upload your own tracking number to a return.

·1 week ago · EditedYou likely had to purchase your own return shipping label because you filed a Buyer's Remorse Return Claim.
If you are the seller, then yes we have to purchase return shipping labels when a buyer files and INAD.
The return shipping label is usually able to be purchased from the actual Return Claim filed.
