eBay required invoice for used personal items!!
"How can I resolve the issue of my suspended eBay account due to requested invoices for personal and used items, specifically two wristwatches and a collection of new books, which are not valuable? I previously consulted an expert on the eBay community who confirmed that selling new books does not violate eBay and VERO policies. Please advise on how to handle this situation, especially regarding my personal belongings and the wristwatches that do not have invoices."

OP3 years agoThey required an invoice for my personal used items. And recently I already provided them with all documents but they NOT accept to remove the restricted !!

·3 years agoWhy are you quoting an old post from a different seller? Are you aware that advertising is against forum policy, and your post can be seen as an attempt to advertise your own listings?

It doesn't appear your account is suspended from selling yet because you still have items listed. Perhaps there is a temporary restriction on listing new items until you get this sorted out.
The bottom line @elianastorecenter if you are facing this situation, is you need to work with customer service and provide the receipts they're asking for. A lot of other sellers have come here with a similar problem and I haven't seen anyone keep their selling privileges if they couldn't provide receipts. Did you pay for the items with a credit card or your bank? Pull those old credit card or bank charges. As long as you didn't pay cash you should be able to request those records if you don't already have them.
If the watches were expensive, that combined with a new seller status, plus 99 cent jewelry listed for sale could have red flagged the account.

·3 years agoJust find that receipt you got from Walmart 3 years ago and see if you can even read it. They all just fade away after awhile and become just a blank piece of paper. Wonder if eBay would accept that for proof?

·3 years agoSupposedly ebay doesn't accept retail receipts as proof of purchase anyway. They want invoices. Personally if a receipt is good enough for the IRS I don't see why it's not good enough for ebay.

These are US CS agents who are employed by eBay and may better serve you. Many positive posts on this forum with their ability to be helpful. I would give it a try and see if they can offer any help or advice.

·3 years agoi dont know ebay seems to be be asking for the impossible . iam 76 years old and i know no one who kept receits from 50 years ago except for houses and maybe an old car. if i sold some personal items from the last couple of years i might be able to provide the info. i guest a yard sale might be the best or a local austion. if they ask for stupid stuff i know were to give it away.

My mom and I was recently going thru a bunch of papers she kept and we came upon a bunch of old receipts including one for the gold 1968 Chrysler New Yorker my dad bought for $2,100.00 brand new. Also there were receipts for many other things such as Sears Craftsman lawn mower from the same time period.
