Ebay no longer shows Category link on the item listing
It used to be easy to get the category URL and by hovering on it I could see the category number. Now it's just disappeared, Ebay no longer includes the direct link to item category in the listing.
Now the only 3 options are to use Google search to look for links matching the pattern /bn_ , the number before that is category number, to to lookup manually the category page, or use GPT.
But all these are extra effort when all I would do in the past is to lookup a similar listing, click on the listing and see the link to category right on that listing page.
At least if EBay made the search for category number easier. If you are listing by CSV, you are punished for trying to sell anything.

It's at the bottom of the page. The problem with that is the nearly infinite scroll of sponsored ads before you finally get to that buried category path at the bottom.
To anybody frustrated by this, click the ? icon on the lower right of the page and use the submit feedback link. Ask eBay to restore the category path at the top of the page.

link under item picture and that starts a new listing in that category which can be identified quicker than scrolling thru ads.

OP1 year agoMaybe yes, and use the GPeeker chrome extension to preview the link so I don't need to open it.
