ebay no longer closing cases in seller favor if s freight forwarder is proven!! no more protection!
This has now happened twice in 2 weeks!
Clown uses freight forwarder for a laptop
Laptops arrived damaged
Buyer files claim
Ebay confirms FF used
Closes case and returns my money but notes this as a NEUTRAL OUTCOME not a seller win!!! Confirming no feedback removal
This is a stealth change no more protection for sellers even when the buyer is clearly at fault!!!

·2 years agoYou said eBay closed the case and returned your money to you. So how can you say there is "no protection for sellers"?

·2 years agoSo what was the feedback?

·2 years agoI have mixed feelings about this issue.
The fact that a freight forwarder was being used does not mean that a seller could pack inadequately and feel protected from being accountable for it, but there is the possibility that the carrier used by the freight forwarder is handling items in a way that is higher risk than a common carrier.
I guess a neutral solution might be appropriate.

OP2 years agoThe description stated no international shipping unless thru ebays sponsored program..
Bexause a ff is used there was no way to facilitate a return in which if it we a domestic sale completing the return would qualify for neg removal.. the buyer used a round about method to circumvent seller rules and put themselves in a position where the item can't be returned why should the seller ve accountable for that??? By the way my listing's always offer 30 day free returns

·2 years agoYes there is.
Buyer files an INAD, you accept the return and provide a shipping label.
Buyer has to pay to return it to the FF, then pay the FF to ship the item to you using the label provided.

OP2 years agoEbay closed the case "neutrally" after I uploaded the label .. how would I facilitate the return??

OP2 years agoI filed a claim with the BBB, they removed the neg within the day.

·2 years agoIt is not likely that Ebay was even notified in that short of a period of time, much less get to the right person to review it and decide what to do.
We are all at a disadvantage here since we don't know what the feedback said and you didn't share the details.
I've never heard of a "neutral outcome". Did they offer an explanation of it? I've never known Ebay to use that before, so I'm just curious.

OP2 years agoNo they responded to my BBB complaint citing the crap customer service I've received so far and agreed it should have been removed by the first tier
The feedback stated the item doesn't work..

·2 years agoI use a freight forwarder myself. Many forwarders repackage the items so that they ship in smaller packages/containers to cut cost of shipping. We used a couple that did **bleep**ty jobs of repacking/consolidating and things got damaged but that was not sellers fault and we took the hit. The one we use now has never done a bad job but sadly there are many re-shippers that do not.

·2 years agoWhat do you mean, no protection?
You didn't have to refund did you?
Whats up with those $0.01 stickers?

·2 years ago'Whats up with those $0.01 stickers?'.....feedbacks
Long long time ago some sellers sold a stamp for a penny with free shipping...Chinese sellers.
That got stopped as a 'buy it now'.
But I guess auctions are OK?

·2 years agoThat's what I figured, trying to build feedback.
They are going to go broke for a little feedback.

OP2 years agoThe protections are supposed to Include feedback removal

·2 years agoYou're obviously receiving seller protections since eBay is not pulling the money from your bank.
Your complaint is you believe eBay is too lenient with buyer protections; it's not about a lack of seller protections.

·2 years agoI think the concern here isn’t so much about protection from financial loss, but rather about the feedback aspect. Depending on how a case is closed, different protections are applied. If a case is closed in the seller’s favor, I believe feedback removal is automatic. However, when eBay decides on a neutral outcome, like a "Not at fault" decision, it doesn’t include the same feedback protections that come with a "Seller favor" outcome.

·2 years agoIf there was neg FB on the original poster's account, it's not there anymore, so maybe they did get FB protection?

OP2 years agoIt's not this account

·2 years agoWhat is wrong with a neutral outcome?

·2 years agoCases closed neutrally do not automatically remove Feedback. It is very different than closed in sellers favor.

OP2 years agoThere is no language anywhere on ebay about a neutral closed case
