Ebay motors, buyer listed a vehicle NOT COMPATIBLE with the part he is purchasing?

So I recieved an order today for a fairly expensive repair kit for a Mercedes transfer case for 4wd vehicle 2006-2016 but buyer lists a vehicle that is definately not on my compatibility list! (cont. after picture)
Furthermore the buyer is using a freight forwarding service, which is typically not a problem, but his profile says he is in India, and his phone number is in Azerbaijan.
I see a lot of posts with people freaking out about freight forwarders, but I have never had a problem. I didn't even know when I 1st started 10 years ago that parts were being forwarded until eBay informed me of my International buyer rating, and I wasn't shipping International LOL! Actually freight forwarders are a good thing, since buyers cannot make you pay their intl shipping if they decide to return. And as such I've never had a return from a shipment with a freight forwarder!
But it seems to me perhaps that if the buyer lists a vehicle that is not compatible, they can then return the items for not fitting the vehicle, no? I don't typically offer refunds, but it's doubtful Ebay will care whether the compatibility charts are correct.
Buyers has only 4 feedbacks but member since 2016.
Perhaps he just made a mistake, I’ve written to ask. But who selects an incompatible vehicle and buys anyway? Oh and its Overnight shipping to boot!

1) lots of people have several "cars" in "their ebay garage". Those will show up with every purchase if ya don't change them. They are shopping for all sorts of stuff for their kids car, yet never removed "their own" car from thier ebay garage. I saw a 72 C10 above a Polaris part yesterday.
2) As much as eBay pushes that guarantee fit thing, I still VERY SELDOM see any vehicle above a sale.
3) I like freight forwarder stuff. Odds are, that item is not coming back.
4) Overnight shipping? Are ya nuts?????? (I can write you a novel as to why that's a bad bad bad idea).
5) If I told them it wouldn't fit, they would buy it anyway (see #1) and then return it.
6) I'm gonna part out my pretty darn nice Pagoda. I'm scared
Is an 03 Kompressor all wheel drive? I knocked one in the head a very long time ago but don't remember

OP1 year agoSo, yes called Ebay and they said, likely the buyer just had a car selected and wasn't paying any attention to it as you said, and knew what they were ordering, and in turn the buyer confirmed. Another interesting thing is the rep said, that a buyer using freight forwarder isn't entited to the "Ebay guarantee" because the item is shipping to an address not listed in the sale. Hmm...anyway, it's shipped. I use UPS Overnight saver via Pirate Ship,
and was only ~$65. Of course I charge the buyer more than that to cover the Ebay commish and transportation to the other side of town, hand carry. But less than EBay's book rate. It's gone now, so thats good. I used to sell a lot of these kits but
wow, the Chinese got into the Mercedes transfer case business. Nothing escapes them. Now they make entire replacement cases for less than the parts.
How long they last is another issue.

·1 year agoI get that about 1x per week and have for 728 weeks (14 yrs) and I do 1 of 3 things
1.) Message the buyer
2.) Call the buyer
3.) If no response (I have 5 handling days, so I'll wait 3) I ship what they ordered because they very well could have more than 1 vehicle and the 'system' just has the last (or only) vehicle they input.

·1 year agoI think eBay is exposing sellers more to countries than in the USA...higher shipping rates...item+shipping+tax is a higher eBay fee. Just my crazy opinion.
I had 2 'freight forwards' last week...one to Delaware to Kazakhstan and one to Florida to Colombia...2 in a week is so very rare for me.
So, I take a photo of package with postage and send that in a friendly email to buyer saying I realize this is going 'freight forward' to 'country name' and please allow extra time since it is going to such and such a place.
Actually, both buyers emailed me and said thanks...LOL.
Here's the thing about 'freight forward'....if it doesn't get scanned as 'delivered' in the USA state...for me it's Delaware and Florida...it's not delivered. I had no problems in the past with 'freight forward'...because I do a few extra steps as mentioned.
I have a number of such 'freight forwards' stating "in transit....arriving late"...from a year or two ago...LOL...buyers were honest and left positive feedback...items never got scanned as delivered.
It depends sometimes on the buyer...if you win or lose.
And, unfortunately India has become on my block buyer's list from too many never received items...but maybe it's because I am just unlucky.
