eBay listings
I resell a lot of Home Depot products. So I have to list 50-100 products daily and I have to manually save pictures from the Home Depot site for each product to list on eBay then add the UPC and model numbers. Then I have to do my own description and copy some from Home Depot's. Then I have to do the price markdown sale manually too. Which takes so much time. Does anyone know any tool or website that can do all that for me ?

·2 years agoI must admit what you describe as your listing process sounds a whole lot easier than what I have to do to list items, so I definitely can't help there. I would like to read how you do what you do, especially the sourcing/pricing/shipping part, but I'm sure you don't want to help us.

·2 years agoThe red flag I see is that you are selling products built for Home Depot for prices less than Home Depot does.
Suggests you are buying b-goods - liquidation stock. If you are and are asked for proof of purchase by Ebay, you may lack that, since many liquidation stocks are sold by lot and the individual items are not specified.
If the product usually carries a warranty and you are offering as NEW it should have the full warranty.
Add to that the stolen goods crackdown and counterfeit crackdown and honest or dishonest you are in deep waters.

·2 years agoHome Despot does have B stock liquidation on a pretty cheap per unit price. I haven't checked in this case but some places give permission to use stock photos, or the manifest has them.
I've known enough people who get inventory this way that none of this bothers me.

·2 years agoI don’t think anyone actually suspects you of selling stolen goods, but it sure looks like you’re doing retail arbitrage.
It’s the only explanation for how you can afford free shipping at your prices.

There is no program, tool or website that will fill in eBay listing forms for you. You can hire an employee if need be. It's concerning that you want to find ways to save time with the chore of listing yet there is no cry for help with the far more time consuming responsibility of packing and shipping. Hmmm...

Maybe that is because they are already packed and the OP actually has some quasi shipping help. Hmmmm..... 😀

·2 years agoPacking and shipping is pretty difficult to automate on a small scale so I doubt there would be much call for help on that.

Can I use images or videos that I copied from other websites on eBay?
No, you can't use images or videos from a manufacturer's website, even if it is publicly available. Copying content from other websites or internet searches may be considered copyright infringement.
What content is allowed?
You may use images, videos or text on eBay as long as your use of that content does not infringe third-party rights and the content follows our Offensive materials policy. For further information, see our full policy below.

·2 years ago@pahomeoutlet If you're listing a lot of duplicate products or products with the same attributes, you can create templates for them so you don't have to recreate listings from scratch each time. No site will magically take photos and create listings for you, that you have to do for yourself, but looking into a third party listing tool will at least allow you to archive and set up some automation. I wouldn't use AI for descriptions - the state of the tech on this site is laughable and you'll get waltzy, gushing descriptions for those shower heads or spigots or whatever.
As far as I'm concerned - what you sell is your own business, but there are some pitfalls detailed upthread that you should just be aware of.
I'd love to do what you're doing, but I'm too chicken (and don't have sources).

OP2 years agoFinally someone who is actually trying to help and not worry about what I’m doing

OP2 years agoFrom the way everyone is coming at me seems like you are all jealous or feel that you can’t do the same thing. If you guys are actually trying to help. You would say something like hey keep in mind you are not supposed to do this or that. But wow a lot of haters out there man.

·2 years agoI will stick to your question.
Honestly, I find your question ridiculous.
Yes, listing items for sale is hard work.
Where you get you items from is irrelevant.
All of us sellers go through the same thing.
We work hard to list our items.
Is there an easier way?
Yes, hire someone to do it for you.
Welcome to ebay.
pahomeoutlet
OP2 years agoWhere do you get your items from?
There are easier ways to do things now. There are different tools that can help. Stick to the old method you are using and keep wasting hours on listing when it can be minutes.

But when we DID "say something," you didn't care for what was said.
That doesn't make us "jealous" or "haters" -- we are simply pointing out the "red flags" that may eventually come back to bite you.
Don't blame us -- you turned the eBay spotlight directly upon yourself.

It's very unusual for a large national, multi-state business corporation such as Home Depot to simply "allow" an employee to use their own promotional photographs -- especially when the employee is using those photographs to sell the identical items from their own website.
Have you confirmed permission with the national headquarters for Home Depot? How about their Human Resources department? Are they aware that you are in competition with your employer?
Home Depot has a series of websites of its own -- and so do you, selling the same products as your employer.
Legally, that's referred to as "a conflict of interest" -- you are competing with your own employer, using the identical products, and even using your employer's photographs.
Most of the workplaces at which I was employed considered that the basis for instant termination.
So you ask "what am I doing wrong?"

The Bulk Listing Tool makes managing up to 2,000 listings easier and more efficient. Using the tool, sellers can relist items, revise existing listings, sell similar products, and finish multiple drafts.
The tool can be accessed in multiple ways from Seller Hub:

You can increase or decrease pricing across multiple listings by applying a total percentage or dollar amount.
The right listing and editing tools depend on the size of your business, as well as the number and format of listings you have.
The stuff your selling does not seem like the stuff that is being targeted for theft.
Mostly it is the Tools that are stolen for resale. News Reports about Home Depo and Lowes stolen items are becoming more common. Check out this one from last week.

Home Depot could have your listings removed.
itscalledapostingid
·2 years agoIt should also be noted that a bunch of listing removals for VeRO violations could result in ebay taking serious administrative actions against the account. Those actions could include demotion in search results and even account suspension.

·2 years agoPerhaps you are not taking into account that one bad apple in our midst ruins the harvest for all of us, anger is based on fear, perhaps some sellers are afraid of further restrictions because most of us are stuck having to do things a certain way only because of certain bad apples who came before us.
Whether we would all behave if things were not that way, somewhat doubtful but the fact remains most of us do not enjoy jumping through countless hoops which ultimately only scare the good guys away anyway.
A new Johnny-come-lately is born every day.
Perhaps your intentions here are honest. But I've never in my life had a thief actually admit to being one, they all deny it vehemently so how do we tell the difference, how do you know who is a thief, you can't really ask them! I mean you can but they just lie, so between a thief and an honest person if you ask both if they are a thief, both will state they are not.
See that dilemma, and your original post was not one that infers honesty.

The fact you are stealing pictures and text from the Home Depot site, but you say “VARIETY STORE © ALL RIGHTS RESERVED†is a real kicker.

·2 years agoSounds like someone drop shipping from HD to me.
dbfolks166mt
·2 years agoSince you stated you already have these items take and use your own pictures. Most of the items I sell came from some store at some time but I take and use my own pictures and type in my own description. I often do not use the UPC since in many cases I have no idea what it is nor do I often know the model number. While you can look all that up at some point you hit a point of diminishing marginal returns on the time you are spending on the listing.
Using your own pictures and descriptions tends to make people think you are less likely to be drop shipping.

OP2 years agowhat are the red flags

·2 years ago@pahomeoutlet
These are the red fags, as you yourself wrote them:
"I resell a lot of Home Depot products. So I have to list 50-100 products daily and I have to manually save pictures from the Home Depot site for each product to list on eBay then add the UPC and model numbers. "
You could relieve some anxiety by using your own photos, and NOT those of Home Depot.
And make sure the model numbers are NOT the Home Depot numbers, but the manufacturer's MPN.
You might re-consider using the same UPC numbers as well, since UPC numbers are notoriously flexible, and regularly retired and reassigned to entirely different products.
Hopefully you have kept all those receipts from your purchases, if not for verification purposes for eBay (should they question your account), but definitely for tax purposes for IRS.
And, yes -- Home Depot is one of the outlets that has been suffering from multiple instances of internal theft, as well as large-scale shoplifting.

OP2 years agoI’m obviously not a thief and if I am I wouldn’t be posting on eBay community. I think most people here are trying to push me hard to find out where I get these items from so they can do the same. These products are manufactured by different brands and are only sold under Home Depot’s name. I have been selling for 3 years and if I were to he doing something wrong eBay would have restricted my account by now. I also wouldn’t have 100% feedback. Anyways thank you.
pahomeoutlet
OP2 years agoLets assume I stole those items like you guys are saying. How will I steal over 7,000 products which include the sold items and quantities from Home Depot stores ?? It’s nearly impossible.
broto_64
·2 years agoI have no idea however you stated that you steal home depot's ad copy, text and photos both:
So I want to clear something else up.
You do not "HAVE TO" do any of this:
Nobody on ebay is forcing you to do this, nobody is holding your loved ones hostage, nobody is holding a gun to your head.
It is your CHOICE to sell on ebay, and if you find it such a chore why do it?
Free yourself!
Sell here no more.
Simple solution to the whole problem.

·2 years agowhat are the red flags
While maybe not a red flag the following looks suspicious and would raise some questions if I was a buyer looking for this item. You have the following item listed with free 4 day shipping. You are in Denver, CO and I am in Virginia. Unless you are getting some special shipping deal the cheapest expedited 4 day delivery I was able to find for an item that size and weight from Denver to Virginia is around $200. You have free returns so hopefully you don't have to bear the shipping cost both ways.
Following is the exact item on Amazon. If I was looking for one which one do you think I am going to buy?

It doesn't surprise me all that much. I buy a LOT of things at Home Depot and Lowes neither of which manufacture most of their products. They do have some items that are built to their specifications but very few. I often find the same manufacturers pictures on multiple retailers sites the only difference being the price and/or the shipping.
dbfolks166mt
·2 years agoWhy is everyone worried about how I got these items. How will I steal 1258 items and not get caught? Comon people just help out with my question.
I provided some suggestions and I am not really worried about how you got the items but perception is everything. A lot of responders on this forum have a LOT of experience and if they are telling you their perceptions it is highly possible that eBay may have the same perceptions.
There are only a few required fields for most listings with a lot of suggested or optional fields. Don't overbuild your listings.
toomuchstuffagain35

evry1nositswindy
