eBay keeps flagging my listings wrongly, and declining appeal for entirely different items
The first were damaged items. Two compact items that were dropped. eBay flagged them as “used” when they clearly say damaged. They declined the appeal, claiming that it was expired perfume. It wasn’t perfume and wasn’t expired.
The newest one is search manipulation on an item that doesn’t meet any of the listed criteria. I went through the checklist.
What is going on? So frustrating!

·Aug 17, 2026 at 6:41 AM@cageyanemone007 Unfortunately HBA products are considered used by eBay when they've been damaged. They are very tight on this. I used to sell a ton of HBA, and if a box was crushed or torn enough that I had to use the word "damage," I knew better than to list it.
On the other one without more details it is tough to give you insight.
What I do when I get an eBay spanking is the same thing I'd did when the ex pulled out her craziness on me: I went elsewhere. That's what I do if I have something pulled, stick it elsewhere. There are plenty of other reselling platform fish in the sea.

·Aug 17, 2026 at 6:12 AMDon’t bother trying to relist them again the same way unless you’re trying to risk suspension, and don’t bother with contact CS because in all reality it’s pointless & they’ll either just lie to you to get you off the phone or they’ll just read you the same script that was in the removal message.
What I usually would do in situations like this where I know for a fact and can prove that it’s not a policy violation is I would save up all those items that get rejected, and you’re gonna have a LOT of them if you sell a lot of HBA/cosmetics, put all those items aside and than every X amount of months depending on how quickly they pile up, you can make one ‘lot’ listing and sell them all at a discount. Make sure it’s clearly stated that they’re all brand new, *SEALED* ( don’t try listing anything that’s been opened or has broken seals, even if it was just from dropping it and the internals were never touched, once it’s open/seal broken, it’s ‘used’) scratch and dent clearence cosmetics. Than make sure your description includes any expiration dates, all the damage you see and reiterate the fact that everything is still brand new sealed and was liquidated from corporate retail locations solely due to minor external aesthetic factors including scratches dents and/or chips and that these products have no past or active recalls, no hazardous or foreign contaminations, no history of water, flood, moisture or high humidity exposure, there’s been no physical contact or interaction with the consumable portion of the product nor has there been any alterations to the original cosmetic ingredients contained within each factory sealed item by non-physical means such as excessive heat, cold or radiation exposure, smoke damage or any prolonged proximity to noxious or odorous environments .
You may also want to find a more suitable category to list this ‘bulk liquidation’ lot under that may be less scrutinized than the traditional retail cosmetic categories used for standard sales of new sealed individual cosmetic items or lots listed under one shared SKU /UPC or one shared brand/type/shade etc.
Don’t list outside of what it is you’re actually selling, but categories like Mixed Makeup Lots or even Health>wholesale lots>beauty >makeup would fit fine , or, health>wholesale> other wholesale health and beauty could also fit that lot.
If that too gets taken down, just sell the lot locally before they ban you with no recourse

·1 month agoWhat @bonanza125 said is likely the outcome, but you can contact Ebay and try to resolve this issue. But is it worth it? It won't be easy and it will take time.
On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
Things have changed in recent months and Ebay is not offering customer service on any site other than Ebay and Instagram right now.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

·1 month agoNothing you can do. If you try to list it they will continue to get removed to the point you will get suspended. List whatever you are trying to sell on another platform which allows it.
