·1 year agoAnd your point is? Since I know others won't support you, I'm also a 26 year member and see that you have a focused, unique offering, compared to my random set of unique items....Those days are over, through eBay, but I do not know who is filling that. Others have the platform but not the reach, or volume. You are similarly tired of years of Tagalog mention of 'being the best part of eBay.' Now the best part is extremely high importers of Chinese goods who automate all and just absorb fees, returns and nonsense. For years, I've accused them of trying to be Amazon, but on the back of us sellers, now they want to be Temu....all three are racing to the bottom. There are other venues, but with less reach, you might not get best price, but if you factor out the likelihood of nonsense, complaint, fraud, refund or damage, it balance out. You have some neat stuff. Someone needs to simply create a platform that mimics eBay of 20 years ago - based on simplicity, trust and communication, all of which are gone.

OP1 year agoOh I did get a reply from an "American" representative. He told me he couldn't find that my account was limited at all, and everything was just hunky-dory, which was a complete lie.
Every representative after that was from India, hence my reference.
As to my referring to you as a "Mentor"....that's how Ebay refers to you, NOT me.
You stated that I have ignored "everyone" who has replied to my thread. Try reading my responses to all of them. You'll find my answers polite when the responses were helpful, not-so-much when "holier than thow" experts put their less than two cents in.....like you.

·1 year agoNowhere does eBay refer to @gurlcat as a Mentor. I am a Volunteer Mentor, but gurlcat is not (not that that takes away from her excellent advice). I’m not sure how you got confused about that.

·1 year agoAs with many things, they have confused @gurlcat with me for some reason. Not sure why, but that is how it appears to me.

·1 year agoThe phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. ·1 year agoWe travel often and shut down numerous times every year. Three years ago we shut down for over six months and started right back up with zero issues. eBay is required to keep tabs on all sellers since they manage payments now. Has something changed in your finances that would cause a drop? Did you reach out to them or ask for an increase under "Monthly Limits" in the Seller hub?
mam98031
·1 year agoWhile there are more information Ebay is required to have on their sellers since they are now our money processor, Ebay has always kept stats on sellers and eval'd sellers monthly on those stats.

Ahh- good point.
Model - Are you registered for Managed Payments?
EBay needs your SSN and checking account information to send your customer payments (after the verification you are complaining about) to your bank account.

·1 year ago@modelbuilderswarehouse If you come back to this thread - my advice is to just keep going.
Obstacles exist only to be overcome.

But your head is so full of rage you see what you want to see (more stuff to feel rage about).

·1 year agoWhat @chapeau-noir said ^^^
I know it's extremely frustrating, but if you pick up where you left off as a top-notch seller after your hiatus, I have precious little doubt that your selling limits will not only be restored but increased beyond your previous threshold.
And sooner rather than later.
Never make decisions when you are angry.
Preferably, don't make public posts while you are angry.
It's not the "real" or "best" you. It's just that you are human and PO'd.
Take a little time to decompress.
Best of luck with shop & sales.

I get it that from time to time we all get upset with Ebay, but I do not understand where you come off saying something like "I ADMONISH EVERYONE WHO READS THIS TO FIND ANOTHER VENUE FOR SELLING BESIDES THIS CRAPHOLE OF A BUSINESS." Who do you think you are to "admonish" any of us for any reason???? You haven't even figured out on your own to contact Ebay and talk with someone even though there are ways to do that. But you for some reason think you are superior to the rest of us and are in a position to "admonish everyone"....
I would suggest taking a step back and LEARN some things from others that clearly seem to know a bit more about things around here than you do and maybe things might be better for you.
modelbuilderswarehouse
OP1 year agoYou're pretty full of yourself aren't you?
Who do I think I am?, Someone who has been on eBay longer than you have, that's who. Maybe you should check eBay's status in the market miss high and mighty "mentor". I heve spoken to the imbeciles on eBay (India) and have gotten NO WHERE. I will not explain anything further to you, and have posted elsewhere on eBay the complete situation. Go find it, read it, and maybe you'll LEARN somethin (doubtful).....
gurlcat
·1 year agoDo you have any idea how many threads get started here every week, by somebody:
WRITING IN ALL CAPS
Stating how long they have been here (makes no difference)
Stating their feedback score (not even eBay cares about that)
Talking about the friggin stock market (🤣)
And trying to convince other people to leave eBay
????
-Saw your other post about how "India" won't raise your selling limits when you stamp your foot. Boo hoo.
modelbuilderswarehouse
OP1 year agoWhat's funny is that I'm stringing you along in this thread Mrs."Mentor". As I stated previously, go read my entire explanation elsewhere since I'm not going to waste my time trying to explain it you, using small words, and short sentences....
gurlcat
·1 year agoI'm not a mentor; don't know where you got that idea. And stringing me along? I just found this thread tonight. 🤣
And I said I read your other thread. -The one you started just an hour ago, complaining about the "India" phone reps. That's because you didn't take the advice that multiple people gave you in THIS thread, about how to reach the reps that have the most knowledge and authority to help you (oh and they're American, since that seems to matter a lot to you).
But you just ignored everyone here. So the question is, what is your real goal for coming to the Community, if you didn't want any help?
mam98031
·1 year ago@modelbuilderswarehouse
Sure you can. Because you haven't figured out how, does NOT mean it doesn't exist, it only means you don't know how.
On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

·1 year agoTrust and safety are higher priorities on this site than they have ever been.
There is no one you can talk to who will have the power the change the situation you are in.
Anyone you can talk to at Ebay will have less understanding than this thread has provided you with.

Yes, in the past 5 years, ebay has moved more and more towards automation and self service for sellers.
As you probably already know, you can request listing increases once a month. Hopefully they will just restore your previous limits at some point soon.
stuff4divas
·1 year ago@modelbuilderswarehouse don't forget to take your 51 listings down from 'this craphole of a business' so u can post them on 'another venue'

·1 year agoBecause you took time off eBay considers you a new or returning seller - given that eBay accounts are hacked and sold online, it's a precaution that your account has not been hijacked because you suddenly pop up again.
Just put up with it for 30 days - I go through the same thing when I leave for four months out of the year. Feedback is irrelevant - this is not punishment, it's a security issue. It might not even be for 30 days - my last pause was gone in a matter of a week or two.

OP1 year agoIt's the first time in 26 years that I have done this. I can't even talk to a live person ! I'm so mad I can't see straight.
I appreciate your help. Mike

·1 year agoThing is, people have come here for help because their account, which they hadn't used for a bit but happened to check, suddenly was showing a lot of bogus listings for high dollar items that were not theirs and that they had nothing to do with. It had been hacked and it's a mess to try to resolve.
The several cases I've helped with they've had to just start all over again.
It's really better to just put up with the inconvenience than to lose all of it.
Yeah, the CS here leaves a lot to be desired - you're better doing what you just did and coming here to find out what the heck is going on. You could contact alternate CS on social media but they might not be able to do much as it's a security protocol.
ETA: They have a presence on facebook and X.

·1 year agoIf you have been here that long you should know how pointless it is to talk to a live person.
I recommend the social media help as chap, suggested. Thats the best bet.
