When I create a draft on my desktop and save it the price I made is set. I go take photos with my iphone and then go into the draft, prices is still what I set it to be. I upload the pictures and then go and check the price of the item BAM ebay is lowering the price.

·2 years agoDon't do ebay on your phone. Would you hire an accountant who was going to do your taxes on their phone?

·2 years agoI use a Desktop or laptop to create all my listings. I have noticed for the last week or two that drafts are a bit squirrelly these days. Now my price has never been messed with. But I've left my drafts and come back a little later and suddenly I have some duplicate drafts.

·2 years agoI had something similar happen today on a desktop. Nothing to do with a phone, the app, or promoted listings.
Saved a draft that was essentially complete, but I had left the price blank because I hadn't decided yet. Returned to complete the draft a short time later, and the price was filled in as $35. No other fields were changed.
Coincidentally, or not, $35 was the price I sold something for last night. I ended up listing the new item at $165, so eBay filling in $35 would have been a costly glitch or suggested price or whatever it was.

·2 years agoHey @pmkehoe . Every time I've seen this issue it's because the seller is using an older phone model that does not support the most updated version of the app. Old unsupported versions of the app cause the exact issue you're running into.
Are you using an older phone? If not - update the app.
If you are - and if you have no plans in your future to upgrade your phone, I suggest creating the draft on your phone, uploading photos, then going to your desktop to finish the draft and pricing before listing.

OP2 years agoI have an iPhone 14 with the updated app.

·2 years agoHi @elizabeth@ebay . Seller opens draft in updated iOS app and it shows all the info they entered on desktop. After they upload photos to the listing, the price in their draft is changed. Can you get this reported to the mobile team?
elizabeth@ebay
Thank you @wastingtime101, I'll get this reported asap.

OP2 years agoI use business policies already and they have nothing to do with the price being changed by eBay.

OP2 years agoOK, I would understand if it happened only once. But I have screen shots of it happening multiple times on the same day. I don't use a listing tool or promoted listings. I create the draft on my computer and fill in the price I want at that point. I then go into my phone and attach the photos. AFTER attaching the photos ebay is overwriting my price with the median price.
I am not going into the price and changing it ebay is overwriting it with the median price.

There is a section on the listing form almost at the bottom of the form for Promoted Listings. Did you fill out anything there? Are you using the Promoted Listing tool? If so which tool.
This page will give you the options within the Promoted Listing tools Ebay has available.

·2 years agoI have mentioned that before!, All I can say is be careful before you press list it, You need to double check it!, It isn't right by any means, But they do things sometimes & you alway's need to be aware!

·2 years agoYeah well, this is why you always check the price (among other things) before listing a draft.

·2 years agoIt doesn't make it right!, They should never do that!

·2 years agoYou are assuming Ebay has done something. We can't see the complete listing form on this item. Assuming stuff is the quickest way to create issues or problems that otherwise would not be there if we did our homework.

·2 years agoThe seller. We are after all merely human and we make mistakes.
Ebay does not change pricing without the expressed permission of the seller via one of the PL tools.
