eBay International Shipping Hold Up/Issue
I have had my first hiccup using the eBay International Shipping Program. A sale I shipped out early last month is stuck in customs (Chile Customs) and the tracking states "Destination customs - Delayed by customs due to lack of documentation." It was shipped out to the Glendale IL location (eBay EIS) before being sent to the ePost Global Processing Center.
I don't want to burden the customer with trying to figure it out by themselves and am looking for a way for me to be able to help identify the issue. Does anyone have any advice?

·1 year agoI have had the same issue but as a customer/receiver - it is because UPS has not paid on the customs/VAT, that I paid at the point of purchase. Eventually it was released and I got a bill for the customs/VAT plus a transaction charge. At this point I will not be buying again through the international shipping program, ie from the US, at all.

Look very carefully at the listing/order and make sure you used EIS and not eBay EISD. I think both get sent to the same hub in IL. eBay International Standard Delivery, does not have the protections that the eBay International Shipping does. With EIS, you would likely not have the tracking notice you describe.
Just a thought.

OP1 year agoI just double checked, and it is EIS (i don't ship outside of US unless EIS) but it (invoice) did have an email address (eBay) that i may send a message to see what happens. (maybe a notification email)
I am not too worried about it and will most likely contact the Facebook group if nothing happens in the next couple of days as @fbusoni suggested. Delivery date was yesterday so I don't need to do much yet.

·1 year agoMy advice, honesty, would be not to worry about it.
I don't mean to sound like a bad or insensitive seller, but is ebay's responsibility now.
Have the buyer file a INR and let ebay deal with it.

OP1 year agoI get it and appreciate your response. Since i do have extra time for the next couple of days, i don't mind trying to help them out. The item is somewhat of a rare vintage guitar pedal that I would feel bad if it got lost. From what i read on the interwebs, many times the holdup is a fee/tax the buyer needs to pay. EIS should of taken care of the paperwork so i am more curious of what the issue could be. Thanks for the response @inhawaii

"eBay International Shipping helps you to reach buyers across the globe without the need to manage overseas shipping, customs, or returns."
Since this is an eBay issue, I' d contact facebook/eBay, and let the buyer know you are trying to get the situation clarified.
