Ebay Holding Sellers Money
For months, sellers in the community, youtube, etc., said ebay will be holding sellers money longer, if sellers do not use express same day payment, which ebay charge a fee. I never used express payment, I found no need to do so. I am set for daily payouts. However, for the last two months, my daily payout taking longer than ever before. Also ebay is not giving me all my daily payout money. For example:
I get 3 orders, one at 8:00am, another at 11:00am, and another at 1:00pm. I pack and ship all 3 orders off the same day. During daily payouts for all 3 orders, ebay will give me daily payout for the 8am, and 11am orders, however, hold the money for the 1pm order another day. At first ebay would do it every now and than. However, ebay is doing it every day. This is another way to push sellers to express same day payments, to get fees. Like I have stated many times in the year 2023, ebay just come up with the next trick and scam to milk sellers out of every penny they can. It is a shame how ebay has fallen, running ebay as a "shake down" company. It is more shameful, that ebay rewarding people just to say nice things about ebay, because of ebay gross behavior towards sellers. Ebay higher ups, see, and hear what hundered of thousand of sellers are saying very bad things about them. Some are saying ebay is breaking many laws, and running ebay as a crime business now. It is a shame. As I aways say, OK "MODS", ebay "APOLOGIST" (who ebay rewards), and ebay "WORKERS" who LOVE to retaliate against sellers...?????

·2 years agoeBay is not "holding" any money. It has to do with when the money actually clears the ACH system and is made available for payout.
It's exactly the same as how if I take a check to the bank at 4:30 PM it likely won't clear and be in my account until two days later, whereas if I take it over at 10 AM, it will be available the next day.

·2 years agoSellers can say whatever they want but that does not make it correct. That goes double for people popping off on Youtube.
That suggests that payment for the 1:00 p.m. sale was made too late to make the payout deadline for that day.
Again you need to take what 'some say' with a grain of salt. Do your own investigation and do not rely on what others say without evidence - even if they have a very slick Youtube video. For example - exactly WHICH laws do some say Ebay is breaking - and how come no one has noticed before now?

OP2 years agoIf I was going to take what someone say with a gain of salt it is you. I clearly stated that this recently started happening "SLOWLY, about a month ago. Prior to that for years this never happen no matter if I got 3 orders at 6pm, 7pm, an 8pm of the same day. For as laws, ebay is breaking laws, however, in the states the government allows it. In the EU where the laws is to protect people for tech companies, ebay was investigated, and found that they was robbing sellers, and customers. Thus, the EU pass laws to stop ebay, and other tech companies. The U.S. just don't care if people get rob. Now can post several laws ebay maybe breaking. Hint, how ebay is triple dipping on sellers orders. When I notices it, I call ebay, and ebay refunds me my money back. How many thousands of people is not aware of this triple dipping, and ebay is keeping millions of dollars, of people money. Go through your numbers, and no matter what you say to defend ebay, your numbers will be off, as those ebay is taking more than what they are posting on your dash board.

What laws were those? The only ones I am aware of involve sellers required to post their contact info in their listings such as you see in German or British listings. As buyers already have Money Back Guarantees on their side that would not seem to make much difference as they have Ebay protections already.
Okay - great - then please state exactly which laws are being broken. You keep making this claim but you do not back it up with facts.
I am receiving the exact amounts in my selling account that I expect to receive. Now please walk us through your example of this 'triple dipping' using numbers from whatever sale gave you this problem and we might be able to explain your misunderstanding.
PS - I see that after all the explanations you received a few months back about why magazines do not qualify for Media Mail you are still listing them for shipping that way. When the currently very busy USPS finally gets back to inspecting MM shipments after the holidays that may not end well. You should really just upgrade to Ground Advantage - it does not cost that much more - and then you will have secure shipments that will arrive unopened by USPS and when they are promised.

·2 years agoFunny you mention it. I was told today by clerk I've known for ages that how media mail is handled is going to change next year apparently. He said the "buzz" traveling around the PO is it will be limited to two pounds, educational materials only. It will not be inspected at stations but is going to be machine inspected at hubs... Non-Qualifying items will still be delivered but the back charge to the sender will be at priority mail rates. We'll see if his prophecy comes true.

(I'd be grateful if they'd also go after the sellers who send you a big Ground Advantage shipment that's padded with 18 mashed-up new Priority Mail Flat Rate Padded Envelopes inside. I let them flatten out in a warm room and they recover their original shape within a day, and every now and then I drop off the accumulated stack in the rack at our local PO. Dropped off 15 more last weekend.)

·2 years agoGotta love it. Adyen does the ACH and their systems communicate back to eBay which triggers the messaging of payout in you're messages. Yes, that happens on weekends with daily payout enabled, happens to me every week. Because I use Keybank the ACH hits the following business day, Monday as pending funds which I can use. Now Chase Manhattan, don't know if they've changed things up or not. I can tell you when I'd merchant accounts the ACH hit them instantly and they hold the funds for two working days (Mon-Friday, holidays excluded.) So if I processed a batch on Thursday, not see funds in the bank until the following Monday assuming I closed the batch BEFORE Eastern Standard Time Midnight. If I closed the batch one minute after midnight, then that's Friday even though I processed all the orders on Thursday. So if that were to happen "Batch Closure at one minute after midnight on a Thursday, that makes it Friday and I'd not see the deposit until the following Tuesday."
Nothing at all to do with Wells Fargo or Card Service International, Chase held up every ACH transfer for two working days. They earn interest on it along with a million other merchants.
First thing understand about plastic cards is those involved in every aspect of usage of said cards makes money and going and its a fixed racket. At least with Car Dealerships I know exactly what's going on the moment I walk through the door and I tell them so, "If you're looking to take me coming and going then tell me right now and I'll save us both time." With dealerships I know that gig upside and down backwards and frontwards along with every gaming salesman, financing, floor manager care to throw my way. The moment they realize that, I get a square deal... I've even say if they try throw the take me coming and going, "I know you need make money, but If we're not talkin' a square deal here I'll happily go around the showroom and help others try make their best deal." Faces like deer in the headlights!
Your buyers payments have to process and clear in order to be available for payout. This can take up tom2 days. Once the payout is available to e sent to your bank account, it may take a day or two for your bank to process the deposit. Some banks process deposits faster than others.

·2 years agoI do weekly payouts. Funds from sales are generally processed (become available for payout) within 2 days. I do not live hand to mouth, so I do not concern myself with micromanaging down to the minute when they become available from the time of payment.
Funds come in like clockwork. Payout on Tuesdays. In my CU checking account on Wednesday.
To be noted. (knock on wood) My last two weekly's have been in my CU account the same day as payout to be transferred into a credit bearing account.

·2 years agoSome payment sources don't release the funds as quick as others and takes a little more time to process.
When I was accepting American Express on one of my web sites, it was nothing to wait a week or more before they would release the funds.

·2 years agoAmex was three days for us, same with Discover Card then two working days for Chase to release the ACH. Wells Fargo was a day slower than Card Service International and of course Chase still do its two days.
Here nuthin' for nuthin' its pretty danged speedy! When Adyen releases and I get the payout notification funds are near instantly pending (yes I can use them) w/ Keybank. Its quicker than ever took place with either Wells Fargo or Card Service International.

I do not use eBay Payouts, and I've never been threatened by eBay if I don't use them.
None of my pay-outs have been delayed any longer than usual.
And many YouTube videos are not entirely to be trusted as reliable sources.

They want monetize on whatever brings sellers to watch their channel. I have to admit, some of them are just downright hilarious to watch the complete baloney information they attempt spew. Reminds of so much anti-social media, just hard to believe anyone take a word of it with two grains of salt more or less one.
They know eBay upside and down yet literally not a thing of what's happening in the world of money short of the often bias news they choose watch claiming that the truth of the Lord if it fits their narrative. Narrative that are usually conspiratorial in every aspect of essence then go spew that into their youTube channel as their gospel of knowledge and conspiracy. Walk up to em' on the street where they cant run away or use their phone and ask, "Oh, how's a UPC code encoded?" Huh? What? What are Net Terms? "Oh you mean like Gigabytes?" What is the actual process by which chargeback, mitigation and risk assessments occur? Huh? But, yea... Just fountains of knowledge on eBay and commerce... Yep. Cant even made a decent website more or less deliver traffic but, yep, complete experts in eCommerce.
Truth be told they live in their own bubble. There are some however that are honest and they'll say right out, "Well I dont have a clue... But that said..."
Last year my lady was yackin' at me make a youTube channel, get sellers who actually know their stuff onboard for the betterment of knowledge and community. Take the revenues earned and donate them to some worthy charities versus those upon the teet's of youTube simply taking advantage of sellers who care learn or know more. Ask yourself when's the last time you saw any of the Tubers for example talking about creating attractive responsive templates for their listings? When's the last time you saw a Tuber explain card processing? When's the last time you saw Tuber explain how to effectively target Google or Bing in eBay listings or how to effectively use social media to deliver qualified traffic?
But... Yep EXPERTS. Experts that no burgeoning web based hard goods business even consider hiring in any roles of sales management short of packing.

Without knowing the backend processes any such statement as the OP's sheer conjecture.
Likely payments made are queued, perhaps a prioritized queue and submitted into batch processing. Is said processing on US Time, EST, CST, PST perhaps Dutch or any mix of above. Folks often put blame on the point of sale when in fact they've little to no control over the processes once they are committed to external systems for processing. ACH is actually instantaneous... So if one's using say Citizens Bank or regional bank or even say Chase time it takes that Chase have custody of the transfer might be two working days. Keybank is pretty quick about things.
I'd estimate albeit companies make deals the eBay Instant payout stuff is more like PayPal was doing, "We'll front you up the money." Charge a fee for that then Adyen pays out to eBay as the funds go ACH. Just smart business actually same as many a bank will float a workers pay to them earlier then the direct deposit happen via the employer's bank.

·2 years agoThere are no 'Ebay rewards' for posting on the boards. Many years ago there used to be a $10 credit to your account..but you havent been here long enough to remember that. The boards were new then, and Ebay was trying to promote participation on them.
Do you have a link stating that 'hundreds of thousands' of sellers are saying bad things about Ebay?

OP2 years agoI was around on ebay much longer with other accounts, and I know this. There are many things ebay do to sellers, and not to others sellers. If you don't pick a fight with a evil ugly person, that is because you are defeated, and became a SHEEP.
