ebay holding my money
Hello, I had 2 widow maker heart attacks and have heart failure. I was unable to sell for about a year. I started back up and sold a Penn senator 16/0 fishing reel for approximately 1,000.00 . ebay put a 30 day hold on my money. After everything, all my reels sold and then delivered and positive feedback was received on the Penn senator. I checked with my bank, I asked others to check their accounts, I called ebay and spoke with a supervisor who said she was going to report this. After I waited for a couple of days I called back. I was told her request or my request was denied? I have asked all of sellers and customers from my many years of selling, and no one has ever heard of this. I thought can ebay discriminate after all the years I've been loyal. Then I remembered the last person who I had spoken with on eBay. I cannot remember the name. He said that he would probably just use another platform and agreed with me when I asked if this would happen again. He said that if it's a high dollar amount and not usual. ebay could hold your money. I explained that I just bought a 🖊 pen for almost 6,000.00 on eBay and the company that sold it to me did not have any problems receiving my money or having any hold on it and they did not have any revenue hold from ebay. They also thanked me and told me that it is rare that they even sell merchandise for that price. I explained that it was bad timing and I had no notice. I explained that it caused me to be late on my mortgage, and I only bought the pen for resale. They actually apologized for ebay not being transparent enough that more sellers should know. Why was I not warned? Does Mercari and other platforms do this without notice? I have a brand new Penn senator 16\0 reel that I would like to sell. Because it's the same type of reel that was used in the movie Jaws 🎬 and its been out of production since the 80's. I am afraid to sell real solid gold Cross pens, very expensive items now that my health is not good on eBay. Is this for real 😳?

·3 years agoYou are an occasional or returning seller at this point.
Until you've been selling for 90 days and sold 25 items your payments will be held until tracking shows delivered, or in 21 days if there's no tracking. They can hold the payment for the full 21 days if you're selling in a high risk category.
And actually, they may put a 30-day Hold on some high value sales.
You can ask every 30 days for the restrictions to be lifted.
Use social media for that-- not the phone clerks who have no authority.

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/How-do-I-contact-Customer-Support/m-p/32016431#M1783851 -> Automated Assistant, type AGENT -> enter. You will then get more options.

They will contact you, probably as a Chat.
The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.
Since you have been away, and I certainly hope you are in better shape now, do you have a Managed Payments account for eBay to transfer your payments to your checking account? They will also need your SSN, since you are already over the $600 where eBay is required to supply you with a tax form.

·3 years agoI'm afraid so... because of your year long absence, ebay regards you as a new or infrequent seller, and puts a hold on your sales proceeds, especially on high dollar items. Also, you shouldn't put much stock in ANYTHING ebay customer service reps tell you. They're full of bad information, and will tell you anything to get you off the phone. I'm sorry for your circumstances.
