Ebay Fees plus promotion Fees are way too much. I get left with nothing
Can't afford Ebay Fees + Promoted. The promoted includes selling price + Shipping + Taxes. The promoted should be limited to the listing price only. I can justify Ebay fees, item price + shipping cost + taxes. The promoted fees to include all the above is just doubling the promoted fees.
item price 8.00 shipping cost 5.07 + Taxes =Ebay Fees 2.02
Plus 12% of the above for promoted.
You can see on items that are inexpensive drive up Ebay fees. I am price out of inexpensive item listing.
Another example:
item price 75.00 + Shipping Plus Taxes; Ebay fees 11.25 and promo fees 10.25
Leaving me with only 53.50 profit. Ebay you need to ease up on promoted fees at least.

Then don't promote your listings.

But it isn't. So if you don't agree with the promoted fees, then don't promote your listings.

Many sellers have discovered that eBay is not a good fit for some of their items.

Stop Promoting Your Listings !!
Or if you absolutely must promote, cut your promoted listing percentage.

·8 months agoIt is a constant challenge to get your items Viewed, Promoting is one way that doesn't even work for the most part, Unless you promote at a ridiculous percentage, But without any promoting especially in the congested collectibles category, I don't think many views at all would be obtained, It's pretty much a no win situation is what I am finding out.

·8 months agoRarely, can you make any profit selling items under $25. You should combine a couple of similar items to get your "price point" up.
Why on earth would you agree to pay 12% promotions? That is just a big "money grab" by EBAY.
If I were you, I would end all your promotions. EBAY recently changed the rules and now if "even one person in the world looks at your item" you will be forced to pay "promoted fee". It used to be EBAY only charged "promoted fee" if your customer clicked on promoted item before making a purchase.
To "end promotions" go to Seller Hub, Advertising, Dashboard (click on Promoted Listing). Go to Campaign Overview (click on 3 dots) and select END.
"right click" on weblink below to end promotions

·8 months agoIt's going to be much easier to change what you do than to hope ebay will change what they are doing. I don't promote anything. You might give it a try. I have read, though, that once you do promote and quit, it probably will hurt your sales for a bit, but others report it settles out.

It does not matter how promoted fees are calculated -- if someone else promotes their listing at a higher rate than you do, their listing will appear above yours.
If promoting suddenly cost half as much, someone somewhere would double their rate to take advantage of the situation; soon almost everyone else would promote at twice their current rates to keep up, and you would have to double your promotional percentage to keep up, too, and things would be right back where they are now.
