eBay decides when to talk to you
I go all the way down to Help and then all the way down to Contact us. Sometimes, it takes me to chat bot, other time it takes me to another menu. It's don't call us, we'll call you!
Does anyone know if I choose FULL REFUND, will that include shipping even though it doesn't show it. It shows full refund to be the purchase price. I shipped a guy a jacket to Canada for $55 in shipping, which he has returned. I only want to refund him the purchase price.

·2 years agoEven if you have a No Returns policy, you can demand the return before refunding.
You will probably be required to pay for Return Shipping.
But when you refund the selling price plus shipping price which you received, the buyer is also refunded the sales taxes they paid and any other customs fees they paid.
End result- you get your jacket back but are out the cost of shipping in both directions. This is a tax deduction.
The buyer has his money back.

I still stand with my thoughts in that ^^^ thread. It was poorly listed (even though your buyer should have asked you some questions) but had 'Leather' in the title, so actually was 'Not as Described'. No matter how it got returned to you... I think you owe your buyer a full refund, including s&h costs.

OP2 years agoReturned over sleeves not long enough. Can't figure out why someone would pay $55 in shipping to buy a jacket from across the border. This guy had to have encountered sleeve issue before and could have asked for sleeve size before making the purchase. Bottom line, clothes should be tried before purchase and shouldn't be purchased online. Anyone who wants to pay his shipping is welcomed to do so like that superstar of eBay.

·2 years agoAnother bottom line is: When listing an item of clothing, ALL measurements should be in the listing to start with. A buyer should not have to ask.

·2 years agoAccording to the negative feedback you got, it has nothing to do with a "sleeve" issue. Sounds like you didn't accurately list a youth XL but instead listed it as an adult XL. That's not the right way to do it.
Yes, if they filed an INAD, you will owe a FULL refund, which includes shipping. You might be balking about that, but if you don't refund it, eBay will (out of your funding source) AND they will give you a strike for not doing it on your own.
Everyone makes mistakes. Painful lessons like this make you never make those mistakes again.

If that is your position, why do you have another jacket listed? I noticed that you have put 'Faux Leather' on this listing, but you don't have sleeve (or any other) measurements included. Aren't you afraid this sale might go sideways, too?

OP2 years agoTopic was eBay decides when you should be allowed to contact them, which isn't right, and not one reply above pertains to it. Returns are the reason no one ships items abroad. Domestically, it would have been a $15 shipping on a $70 jacket. From Canada, shipping is 79% of value!!!

Sorry! You can decide when to contact them. Send a message on the eBay facebook page. Quick and reliable! 🙌
ETA: Posters were addressing the body copy instead of your title... oops on us.

·2 years agoDepends how buyer opened the claim. "Item not as described" usually seller has to pay for return shipping.
If its a remorse return buyer pays for return shipping.
Apparently, the buyer seems upset as I saw the feedback.
Buyer returned it before the refund?
Normally, seller would send a return shipping label for the buyer.
