Ebay combined shipping without our agreement
Not a big deal compared to some issues but we have large heavy item listed in quantity. Shipping is modest at $12 fixed which is usually enough to cover the cost, however, to Cali or Washington from Florida it is tight or a lttle short to cover the cost. Today we negotiated with a buyer for five items or $60 shipping to Cali. Notified buyer there would not be a discount for shipping as the cost would approach that. Agreed to the lower offer, ebay sent envoice for correct amount but $36 shipping. When did ebay begin combining our ship cost?

So shipping will be around $52, so we cancelled the sale. Options to cancel do not include invoice issue from the Bay so it looks like we decided to just not do the sale. We want the sale.
We notified buyer that we would cancel. Asked buyer to get the item in two groups, one of two and one of three at the lower price agreed on. In this way we think, we hope, combined shipping will not occur again. And the items have to be shipped this way anyway.

And yes if shipping is excessive we do refund that back to the buyer. For example, the $36 charge may have been fine for East Coast or Mid west.
