eBay claiming item I bought on eBay is counterfeit
eBay took down my listing for a vintage Carhartt jacket because eBay claims it was counterfeit and "We don't allow counterfeit items to be sold on eBay." But the thing is, I bought it on eBay and went to my purchase page and clicked on "Resell" to list it. So eBay facilitates the reselling of items you bought by making it easy to do so, and even encourages it by lighting up the "Resell" button in blue. And then whey you do, you're accused of selling a fake?

·1 week agoI bought 100 Jack Daniels lighters on ebay to re-sell them.
About a year later when I got around to listing them, they were taken down as counterfeit.
Tough break.
I ended up giving them away one by one as gifts.

·1 week ago · EditedFirst, eBay's ability to detect and remove counterfeits has never been perfect. Second, the fact that someone managed to sell an item that is not permitted here does not magically make your item permitted.
