Ebay China is not a marketplace
For those of you who are a bit curious, I took a peek for the 1st time at ebay.cn. Used Chrome browser for an easy translation. There is a banner at the top of the page which reads:
"This website is an information sharing site and does not feature e-commerce transactions. To facilitate reading and understanding for Chinese sellers, and on behalf of eBay's global trading sites, this website only provides Chinese translations of the policies and account operations for each eBay global trading site. All displayed information is sourced from, compiled from, or sourced from eBay's overseas trading sites or third parties. The official version of the relevant information should be based on the independent publication of each trading site or third party. Shanghai eBay Network Information Service Co., Ltd. makes no guarantees or promises regarding the final actions taken by users of this website regarding the content displayed on this website. Any decisions made by users based on this content are not the responsibility of the company or its editors."
No need to ask "Why the heck would you even do that/care about that?" But it feels odd that Ebay has a site where no sales or purchases can be made, not even between Chinese buyers and Chinese sellers. It's basically an "Ebay University" for Chinese sellers.
