What @jgreen6868 ? They provide you a service, they built and maintain the site? You are against paying for services rendered?
While there are other sites that offer similar things as Ebay, they ALL charge fees for services rendered. Unless you take the time and money to create your OWN website [and it takes money], then you pay someone else for doing that for you like Ebay. They didn't create nor do they maintain the site for free. They have real employees and real expenses. All of which enable sellers like you and me to get our products in front of millions and millions of buyers on a regular basis. That is not something we can accomplish on our own without spending a bunch of money creating and maintaining our own websites.
EBAY has many different fees. Selling fees vary depending on what you are selling (see weblink at bottom of page).
LISTING FEE (pay small amount every month to show your item).
SELLING FEE (pay percentage when item sells). You pay fees on total sale (purchase price + shipping + sales tax) plus 40 cent handling charge. Usually about 13-15%.
PROMOTION FEE (optional and you decide what percentage you want to pay). Charged on total sale (purchase price + shipping + sales tax) plus 40 cent handling charge.
