Ebay blocking my items from getting viewed or something else ?
Is Ebay blocking my listings from getting views ?
Are they doing something Nefarious and are up to no good ?
I took 2 clips of watches for sale, one is from a new seller with only 30 feedback and one i just put up a few days ago.
Look at how many views he has and look at how pathetic and low my views are.
I have the newer version and better version of this watch.
What gives here. What do you think they are doing?

I've promoted my listings before and my views, and the amount of items sold increased.
But, at a cost.
SO, that tells me that Promoting (paying more) gets you SEEN more than you would had you not payed more.
Many here will say that listings are not being hidden. Then how, if I promote, do I get more views?

OP1 year agoLOL soh.maryl you're so funny. Yeah there should be more but that would mean i would have to get up off my lazy rear and list my sitting Inventory, problem is i was at the Casino last night and tonight Guess where I will be 😂

·1 year agoYou found those because the OP is here, so they are not hidden from you when you find them the way you did.
Does not indicate that the watch listing is "viewable" (found) when someone searches for that model watch (or any watch) and of course even if it shows in search, it may not get a view.
I think the funny was more of where OP would be, and not so much related to your words.

·1 year agocoming up on 8 hours and no one has suggested "shadow ban" for community posts that do not depict ebay as the best thing since sliced bread😂
also not the same item by year (don't know if that would kick in a couple of extra views, or not)

·1 year agoYours will likely still sell first. Browsers don't care about prices. Most serious customers for a specific item are going to search price lowest first.

·1 year agoother seller could also be promoting the item off ebay........i.e. in facebook groups, to influencers, etc.

OP1 year agoI think our only saving grace for changing this platform back to what it used to be is for Elon to buy Ebay, walk into Corporate and Chase everyone out like he did to Twitter.

·1 year agoRemember that what you see now might not be what you see later.
Remember that you may not know or be able to determine the period of times your competitor's views occurred during. That you do not know how many of his views are external views, generated by a search engine or links from social media pages.
Instead of wasting your item trying to fine turn your listings, consider how you might drive traffic to your Ebay listings without paying Ebay any more money than you already are.

Sales and views are erratic. They don't always make sense. They're not always steady.
It's not ebay doing something nefarious or being up to no good.
No offense, but you're not that important to ebay.
Ebay is not out to get you.
I've actually come on these boards before with this scenario...
I'll have something up for sale.
There will be 20 others for sale just like it at a lower price with lower or free shipping, yet mine continue to sell.
Why? I don't promote. Do you think ebay is doing something nefarious to the other 20 sellers?

Does ebay pay engineers to alter that bingo cage so that it doesn't dispense some random sellers balls for no reason at all, even though they have nothing to gain?

Look at the sellers name with the high view count of 77 vs. my 3. Do you honestly think he's in it to win it. Do you think he has any skin in this game ?

·1 year agoYes, eBay is blocking your listing from what many would consider "good" search result placement.
However, it's not just you. It's everybody. At one time or another.
OR....
No, they are not blocking you from "good" search result placement.
Instead, they are showing other sellers items.
And at one time or another, one of the other sellers shown, will be you.
Just gotta wait your turn

·1 year agoThe other seller is using a promoted listing for more prominent search placement.
You listed your watch two days ago and revised the listing nine times since then. I am surprised anyone has been able to see it at all, considering all those revisions. It can take up to twenty-four hours from the last revision for indexing to complete.
