Ebay authenticators....horrible!
I had a Louis Vuitton bag that didn't make it past authentication. I've been an LV buyer, seller and authenticator for over 20 years. Not only did I lose out on a sale, the fact they have accused me of trying to sell a fake makes me furious. AND to top it all off, they sent the bag back in a box with those air pockets and not even wrapped for protection, and now the edging and edges are damaged from sliding around in the box!! I'm absolutely ticked!! What can I do about this? Anything?? I appealed their decision and provided 2 secondary authentications I had done, and yes, the bag is authentic which I already knew....but what about the damage to my bag???

The authentication dept provided the return label, they are technically the shipper and should be responsible for damage or loss.
Did you consider contacting LV's customer service directly to report the authentication issue and ask for guidance? Might be worth a shot.,

Also, report the damage to the shipper, they'll probably deny it, but it will add to your evidence pile.

·7 months agoGet a lawyer! Accused me of the same thing with COA. Waiting for my bag now coming back from authentication. Talked with the department who authenticates our bags. Claims my bag could not be authenticated and does not mean it’s not authentic. If that is the case why send us violating the policy etc etc. when they couldn’t figure out my bag with a COA in the bag for buyer plus Dustbag COA and twillys for the speedy 30 handles. Waiting for my bag now, and if my bag comes back damaged or missing items I sent with the bag. eBay could not authenticate my bag as they stated (doesn’t mean it’s not authentic) how crazy is that? and treat the seller like a criminal and receive a nasty message from buyer. I will have my bag taken to another Authenticator which will make 3. At this point I may need to reach outside for help.

The two statements are not the same thing.

·7 months agoThey are the same if eBay accuses the seller of violating policies and returning a bag because they can’t figure out if your bag is authentic - it’s the same sellers being accused of fakes with COAs showing in their listings and sending a copy to the buyer.

·2 years agoHandbags are authenticated in Las Vegas and New Jersey.
Need to check the return address as to where it has been returned to you from the package.
Would be interesting to google the address to see the building that authenticated(address) it....and then yelp the company...if's it's a third party which it usually is.
