I know that eBay has been a Wild West, arbitrary platform for a long time now... I thought I'd given up reporting a flagrant seller violation years ago, but something seemed so unfair I did report a listing. Sure, using stock photographs in listings for used items is yesterday's news - but this seller was using a stock photo for a loose CD (out of print title has some value when EXC), plus listing it as "Like New." I flagged him for search manipulation, and gave details. After I figured out how to report a seller - not like the old days, when there was a button.
eBay's response? "Nothing to see here, move along."
And I thought it was getting harder to keep up with unscrupulous competition 15 years ago.

·4 months agoSelling a loose CD (disc only) and using a stock photo of a CD in a case is just asking for an INAD (and will more than likely get one.) People who collect CDs really want to see actual photos of the item and see the disc, case inserts etc. since condition is paramount and they want to make sure they get the right edition and pressing they want. If he even sells the CD, it will probably result in an INAD.
Let the seller shoot themselves in the foot with a costly INAD. Reporting them is a waste of your precious time.
