eBay Account from Greece Restricted All Products Removed
I have an eBay account from 2003 and a few days ago my account was restricted due to Bad Buyer experience rating on my eBay sales. This happened because I had to cancel all the orders that had to shipped to the US (about 8-10 orders). I explained to eBay customer support that I didn't want to cancel any orders but they didn't seem to understand... I am a seller why to not want to sell !!!??? I explained them that since I live in Greece, my countries postage system ELTA Hellenic Post has banned all the shipments to the USA from August. Until today end January 2026 nothing had changed. They said they are working on it but still can use their service. The only way to ship products to the US is by courier services like DHL which they charge a minimum 75 euro from the first kilo and then prices go crazy. So for example if I sell a Pokemon card or a book it is not possible to charge 75 euro shipping. I have contacted eBay by email & by chat many many times but they always keep telling me don't worry everything is good !!! I asked them if I could remove USA from shipping destinations and it was very confusing. Some responses said yes some no. Finally I could find a way to do it.
Is there anything I can do to be able to sell again ?
Anyone knows how long these restrictions last ?
I also created a new account on eBay.de but again since I have a Greek address USA couldn't be excluded from shipping destinations. So confused.
I would love to keep my original eBay account with all the positive feedback and products listed and the only way I thought to discourage people order from the US is to add 100 dollars shipping costs for everything which is the reality for shipments from Greece. All other destinations could go normal with logical shipping costs.
Any ideas ? Suggestions on how to work things out ?
Thank you for your time.

When you cancel orders "I didn't want to" and "It wasn't my fault" is not an excuse.
A cancelled order is a cancelled order.
It doesn't matter why it happened.
It only matters that it did happen.
I hope you can understand that.

OP8 months agoMy friend from Latvia explained earlier that not all situations - conditions are equal and eBay has to take different action based on each case.
I hope you can understand this.

·8 months agoYour "friend from Latvia" is actually wrong. None of the seller protections for carrier issues apply to you not shipping an order. They only protect you if it is delivered late after you ship it on time.

·8 months agoThere is no point in justifying this to some US sellers. At times it feels like they are living in a parallel reality. What makes it almost comical is that many of them only start to understand these issues once they are personally affected by the very same problems — just in a different form.
Let’s look at the current situation. Due to severe weather conditions, shipping is delayed or even suspended. Yet, as several US sellers have stated, the seller is supposedly responsible for delivery in all cases. If I understand this logic correctly, even when carriers are physically unable to operate, the seller should still somehow deliver the parcel — perhaps by putting on a superhero costume and walking it to the buyer. Is this really the logic being suggested, or is it simply a complete absence of logic?
Right now, eBay is officially informing sellers that due to weather conditions, deliveries may be delayed or even SUSPENDED, and that sellers are protected because these circumstances are clearly outside the seller’s control.
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Shipping/Seller-Protections-are-in-place-for-sellers-impacted-by-severe/m-p/35452571
Events outside your control
An item arrived late but tracking shows that you shipped on time
Severe weather or carrier disruptions caused the item to arrive late
We automatically adjust your late shipment rate and remove canceled transaction defects when:
Your shipment was impacted by delivery delays caused by widespread or severe weather or other carrier-caused events
The shipment receives a carrier scan within your handling time, even if the item arrives late
We instruct you to hold a shipment or cancel the order
You can also request removal of related neutral or negative feedback.
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-policies/seller-protections?id=4345&utm_source=chatgpt.com
This proves an important point: when eBay chooses to do so, it can protect sellers from performance defects and provide clear guidance on how to handle such situations.
Now let’s go back to August 2025, when shipments from the EU to the US were suspended. This decision was not made by sellers. It was made by postal services and commercial carriers, and the situation was entirely outside sellers’ control. eBay was aware that this would seriously impact EU sellers — yet did eBay take comparable action? The answer is no. There were no meaningful recommendations, no preventive measures, and no seller protections applied.
EU sellers were left without any protection from defects caused by shipment cancellations or delays. I want to stress this again: the situation was identical to the current weather-related disruptions in the US. Shipping was completely outside the seller’s control, and delivery was not possible with any carrier.
For those who still do not understand: at that time, not a single company shipped from Latvia to the US — not the national postal service and not commercial carriers such as DHL, TNT, or others.

It is the seller's responsibility to get orders to their customers.

OP8 months agoYou are 100% wrong !!! If the government refuses posting anything to the US eBay should understand this and treat the sellers in a different way. I am not a scum fooling people, getting their money and canceling orders.
I wanted to ship all orders but postal system refused.
I also read on another situation that a seller had his garage flooded because of heavy rain so all his stock was destroyed so he cancelled all orders and eBay blocked him.
OK tell me again it was his responsibility to protect his stock blah blah blah and yes it is my responsibility to stay alive so to reply to silly comments like yours !!!!

·8 months ago@the909garage No point in getting mad at people posting.....we don't/can't know your history.........you say you canceled orders......we know that can get us suspended/booted off ebay.... if they say "permanent", we know that means forever.....and we know they can/do hold money when sellers get into trouble.

·8 months agoIt's the responsibility of every seller to be able to ship to buyers when the item is purchased. How you do that is 100% on each seller. I know the climate is tough and crappy, but it is still the sellers job to perform without cancelling. If listing DHL as shipping to the US is the only option, use it regardless of the cost. If buyers want to pay it, that is on the buyer.
If your country doesn't ship to the US, direct your attention to your government to make changes. We all know the reasons for your cancellation, but none of those reasons are excuses to provide BBE, especially if selling on the .com site. Pros and cons to everything...right now its a big con for foreign sellers 😞

Anyway eBay is 100% on charge on this and it is 100% their fault, BECAUSE I have contacted them about my issues and they said nothing ! They said all good don't worry...
And here is the proof... copy/paste... and I have more conversations with eBay seller help saying crazy things like yes you can exclude US then another message no you can't etc etc... people are funny...
Hello Christos,
Thank you for writing to eBay customer service. My Name is , and I am happy to assist you today.
Firstly, we appreciate your loyalty towards eBay since 2007. It's truly commendable.
I understand that you are concerned about your account selling performance under bad buying experience (BBE) due to cancelled transactions. Rest assured, I have shared the details below which will help you with this.
Christos, I have reviewed your account and checked BBE dashboard. I would like to share that you have registered this account on the UK site so you can certainly exclude the US region from your listing.
Secondly, I would like to share that currently there is no action on your account, and you can continue your selling activity without any challenge.
In addition, I can see that the system will again evaluate your performance on 11th Jan'26. I would request that you wait until the next evaluation.
I would like to share that system only consider those transactions wherein we find seller is at fault. If the seller is not at fault, the system will eliminate those transactions at the time of evaluation. The system will again evaluate your performance on 2nd Nov'25.
I appreciate you taking the time to contact eBay Customer Service today to clarify this matter. I am optimistic that the information I have provided above is helpful. Have a wonderful day.
Regards,
eBay Customer Service

·8 months agoYes, eBay is currently shifting all responsibility onto sellers, ignoring essential facts.
The suspension of shipments was reported by many news portals worldwide, and the information was also published on postal and logistics-related news sites. I will repeat it again: eBay was aware of this problem.
At the end of August 2025, shipments from the EU to the USA were suspended; this included commercial carriers, which also stopped accepting shipments destined for the USA.
eBay sellers — eBay’s business partners — were left to their fate, without any recommendations on how to act and without any assistance whatsoever.
As we can see in all these publications, the highlighted issue is the BBE statistics, which were triggered by U.S. buyers when purchases were canceled. From my side, I contacted all buyers and explained the situation. Some understood, even waited for shipping to resume and later purchased the desired item; others marked it as a defect.
Any solution I could have chosen would have resulted in a similar outcome — damaged statistics. In my case, there were many orders, and the statistics were irreversibly damaged.
It would only be normal that in such an extraordinary situation, business partners work together to find a solution so that cooperation can continue, that each seller’s case is reviewed individually, and that this absurd BBE statistic is removed. Instead, as eBay justified when closing my store, I was labeled as a threat to the eBay community. If this text was written by a human and not AI, then I have bad news for that person — they, and the authors of this idea, are far more dangerous to eBay itself.
As we can see, practically all publications mention the same issue: under every piece of criticism, the unprofessional attitude of eBay’s seller support staff is highlighted — their inability to understand the problem, find solutions, etc. Both I and others have experienced the same issue: each subsequent eBay representative provides completely contradictory information compared to the previous one. It feels like you cannot trust anything an eBay representative says, because the next one can simply deny it all.
It is absurd that such a technology giant did not allow EU sellers, at that time, to temporarily disable the USA as a shipping destination, or at least place a banner on stores stating that shipping to the USA was currently unavailable.

·8 months agoUnfortunately those restrictions usually last 30–90 days and only eBay can lift them. Since the cancellations triggered it, your best move is to permanently exclude the USA in each listing’s shipping policy (not global) or set very high shipping like you said. Keep contacting eBay and ask for a manual review citing postal suspension — sometimes they’ll remove the restriction if you show proof from ELTA.
the909garage
OP8 months agoThis is a good idea. I will try it !!!
Thank you for been positive 🙂
I have asked ELTA hundreds of times and they always telling me we are working on it... and 6 months have gone and they are still working on it.... only Canada works....
Should I contact them by email ? customerhelp@ebay.com or any other suggestion ?

·8 months agoThere is little hope that eBay will act appropriately given this situation. eBay also asked me to provide evidence that shipping specifically from Latvia to the USA was suspended. I submitted the evidence, and the eBay representative promised to take action. After that, I received no response at all regarding this issue.
At the moment, my store has been blocked for three months already, and I am unable to receive my money — €2,000 for sold items. Recently, I received a letter from eBay stating that my account has been permanently closed because I am allegedly a threat to the eBay community — something we can all have a good laugh about.
My store was suspended due to BBE statistics, because I had to cancel shipments to the USA. From the end of August until the end of October, shipping was physically impossible; even commercial carriers were not accepting shipments. eBay was aware of this and admitted it themselves, yet the result is what it is — my store is closed solely because of this BBE statistic. I had no other defects. I continue to receive positive feedback for items I sold previously, which apparently proves how much of a ‘threat’ I am to the eBay community.
Seeing that more and more EU sellers are publishing similar scenarios, the question arises: is this a deliberate action by eBay to push EU sellers out of the market, or is it due to the negligence of certain eBay employees? As I have written before, eBay provided no recommendations whatsoever on how EU sellers should act to avoid this situation — which is absurd, considering that they were aware of the problem.

OP8 months agoWOW this is crazy !!! 2K !!! and they hold your money ??? This is very bad !!! You should get a lawyer in my opinion !!!
They also keep 50 euros on my account which are from the last two sales I did before blocking me and both orders are delivered with positive comments left from buyers. And they don't allow me to withdraw them...

·8 months agoPost has banned all the shipments to the USA from August
Problem to ebay was that you didn't find a way to stop the orders........which could have been done by raising the shipping price to a very high amount......
In any case, we've seen alot of these posts.......and no reinstatement of any of the accounts........
the909garage
OP8 months agoI had no idea they will remove all of my listings. I also contacted eBay customer support by email and by chat to tell them the issues I have with US orders and they said nothing ! No-one on eBay told me hey don't cancel the orders because we will block you !!!
I thought about this solution of raising the shipping price to a very high amount...... but it was already late..... also when I did so eBay banned my books offers saying that maximum allowed shipping costs for books is 25 dollars !!! What a mess.... eBay has become a very unfriendly platform not like the good old days when money and profits was not so important... eBay could show some understanding that it is not sellers fault but mr Donalds fault...
Anyway... RIP eBay

·8 months agoIf your eBay account from Greece is restricted and all listings are removed, it usually means eBay flagged unusual activity or policy violations. The best step is to contact eBay Customer Support, clarify the issue, and follow their instructions to restore your account safely.

·8 months agoHis account is restricted because of the fake BBE rating generated by AI. Because almost whole world don't ship to US. BBE is created in August 25. 2025. Because of these countries. There isn't ''policy violations''. Ebay.com. commits crimes against all non-US sellers. Of course, this is basically the policy in the US.The list of the countries is on UPU's internet site.

OP8 months agoFirst of all thank you all for your responses.
In my consequence I feel that I did nothing wrong and eBay treated me very unfair because it was my countries restrictions on shipping to the US that made me cancel those orders. I didn't want to in normal conditions and as a proof I can tell that my account is almost 20 years old.
Furthermore, opening a new account on eBay.de and creating a new listing didn't allowed me to excluded US from shipping destinations. I don't know why, I can't understand why. Also one more thing that was really strange, I made a listing on eBay.de and hitting on revise I saw the link changing from eBay.de to eBay.com ! Simply weird. I did the same with eBay.co.uk and again on revising a listing link was changing to eBay.com. US also not possible to exclude.
If my account will be blocked forever ok that's fine but for me excluding US from shipping destinations is not an option and the only thing in common to all eBay sites is my home address been in Greece.
eBay has become a very unfriendly platform running only on bots and automated ai systems.
Pretty sad but that's life.

·8 months agoYou did nothing wrong?
You admittedly cancelled 10 orders.
the909garage
OP8 months agoYes not because I wanted to, because my country forced me to do since they stopped shipping items to the US. eBay could simply allow EU buyers to make a rule and exclude US from shipping destinations. We are international sellers not US based. Also eBay should not allow at all EU citizens to create an account on eBay.com like Mercary does !! I mean hey why you allow me to open an account and then ban me. Life would be easier for all if they allowed people to exclude US from shipping locations and all would benefit from it. eBay is loosing money and sellers are also loosing money.
Also I was getting orders from Hong Kong, Japan, Canada, Germany, Italy and more but hey I am a bad person and a thief not shipping to the US not because I don't want to because mr Donald decided to put tariffs to everything so to make America great again. Will see....

·8 months agoIn my consequence I feel that I did nothing wrong and eBay treated me very unfair
With 18 million sellers active sellers and 1.5 billion listings, eBay uses objective metrics to assess selleer behavior, because it would be cost-prohibitive to interview the seller and the buyer and investigate the transaction to make a subjective determination of intent or responsibility.
eBay does not care WHY you disappointed buyers, only THAT you disappointed buyers. eBay publishes these metrics in policy and in the seller hub and expects sellers to monitor them and make appropriate changes - even if those changes mean suspending your listings until you can ship.

·8 months agoThis account you are posting from is from March 2025 and says United States.
Im sure it will be closed soon too.
If you had a .com (US) account you must ship those listings to the US.
The way around this was to open an account that allows you to not ship to the US.
The eBay.de should have allowed that IF you were not listing on the .com (US) account. If you had moved all your listings to eBay.de and had none on eBay.com you would have been able to exclude the US.
It had nothing to do with your address, only the eBay site you are listing on.
There is no coming back from BBE restrictions.
