E-Bay Postage Question
Summary: hawk_eye is experiencing an issue where eBay claims they are not paying for postage, despite being charged for shipping labels, which is affecting their seller rating. Other participants are asking for clarification and suggesting potential reasons such as system delays or misunderstanding the process. Some highlight the confusion and express surprise given hawk_eye's extensive history on eBay, suggesting they might be seeing discrepancies due to offering free shipping but still incurring label costs.
How can E-bay say I am not paying for Postage through them when they take out payment for every time I purchase a shipping label. This is affecting my dealer sellers rating.

·Jul 21, 2026 at 5:34 PMRaise what you charge for shipping. Some of your shipping is to low where you are losing money. Ebay has nothing to do with what you are charging your customers for shipping.

·Jul 21, 2026 at 4:55 PMAre you talking about not paying or short paying? In other words, is the postage shown on the listing not enough to cover the cost of shipping and you are seeing additional shipping cost noficatations?

How can you not know how shipping works?
If you are printing out your shipping labels through ebay, yes they are charging you for them.
Who says they aren't?

·Jul 21, 2026 at 4:38 PMThe OP may be offering free shipping, and doesn't like it when eBay makes him pay for a shipping label which they think should be free.

·Jul 21, 2026 at 5:10 PMIt's almost impossible to tell WHAT they're talking about, but whatever it is, you would think they'd understand how everything works, after such an insanely long and prolific history.

·Jul 21, 2026 at 4:28 PMThis is due to an annual increase in system activity experienced during this period, which has caused processing delays.

·Jul 21, 2026 at 4:13 PMYou need to state your problem more clearly if you want help. How is eBay "saying" you're not paying for postage?

·Jul 21, 2026 at 4:00 PMI presume you've had a problem with shipping.........would help if you expound on it.
I may cash a check somewhere, but don't go to them about a bank account problem....
