Dymo 550 printer labels

Question

I just bought a Dymo 550 printer for inventory labels and I noticed the huge price difference in aftermarket labels. Has anyone had any issues not using Dymo labels? I one brand better then the rest?

WARNING, there are no compatible labels currently available for the 550 or 5XL Dymo. In fact even previous Dymo Brand Name labels will not work either. The new series printers require special Dymo labels with an RFID chip at high prices and many sizes are still not available.

Many people are complaining and returning their printers over this. Hopefully Dymo will rethink this soon.

Thanks for the reply GMC. I will fight updating to Win11 with all of my strength for as long as possible. Sometimes it seems that the updates they force upon us are not really for our benefit, but a way to keep the programmers busy. These labels are only temporary for me so if they last 6 months to a year I am good.

I haven't used Dymo branded labels for over a decade. You do realize that thermally printed labels will fade to nothing over time? I have a LabelWriter 450 DUO among many other Dymo brands and have not been satisfied with their support over the past 2 years. They have several major software compatibility flaws that they have never fixed with win 11. The fix is you must uninstall the software and many drivers, then reinstall. It has been a pain. Their software also no longer works, at least for me, for checking USPS barcodes on labels created. I hope you have better luck. Generic paper labels have not been a problem for me. The USPS actually use these printers in most offices and they use only generic ones.
