DVD's I listed Sept 11 that are MADE in USA auto-filled with Manufactured in Mexico
I listed 2 Dvd's on September 11. Jumpin' Jack Flash and Hannibal. They autofilled with Manufactured in Mexico in Additional Product Features. I have gone in to try to edit them and there is no place to change that. I have Country of Origin USA and Region Code DVD: 1 (US, Canada...) The DVD's I listed before and after September 11 are correct. I was alerted to this by someone looking at the listing. I edited both with pictures of Made in USA and the Region Code. Can this be fixed?

·3 weeks agoDepends on what Country of Origin means. If it means where the disk and case are manufactured, then it's Mexico.
I don't think people buy dvd's for the disk or the case ... they buy it for content, the movie or concert or whatever.
JJ Flash was made in the USA - therefore that should be the Country of Origin.

Just because a motion picture may have been produced in the United States does not mean that the DVD of the movie was made in the United States.
I have many Mexican manufactured DVDs in my collection of American movies.
I also have many books and comics originally written by American authors, but the books were manufactured in other countries.
If the item being sold is a DVD manufactured in Mexico, than the "Country of Origin" is Mexico -- the idea is to provide the information to the buyer for where the item was actually manufactured.

OP3 weeks agoThey are both Made in USA, country of Origin is USA. I found out all I had to do was remove the MPN and it was fixed. I added pictures to the listing showing where the DVD's were made before I learned about removing the MPN. All is good.

·3 weeks ago@rleclair The initials "MPN" are short for "Manufacturer's Part Number," which indicates where the item was actually produced.
By removing the actual MPN, you are concealing the actual "Country of Origin" information, which is necessary for tariff purposes.
While perhaps temporarily assuring some of your buyers that your item is "Made In U. S. A.," the reality is actually the opposite, which your buyers can find out for themselves once they purchase the item, and research the MPN for themselves -- leaving you open for a "not as described" case.
Many of the bigger movie studios use Mexico to manufacture their DVDs, so it may be difficult to avoid this issue, simply by concealing the MPN number from your buyers (and from eBay).
Just because a movie was produced by an American film company does not actually mean that the DVD version of the movie was "made in U. S. A."
If the DVD is clearly marked "Made in Mexico," it's fairly safe to conclude that the DVD was produced in Mexico, and deleting the MPN does not change that fact.

·3 weeks agoUS Manufacturers of many things have their products made in other countries like China and Mexico and shipped here to be sold. Sometimes these items don't have any markings on them to show the COO. Must be a nightmare for sellers.

·3 weeks agoHave you gone to Country of Origin within the listing? This is where you would change the country. It is position just below the Shipping Options.

OP3 weeks agoThank you. Country of Origin is United States. The fix, I just learned was Remove the MPN. That removes the Additional Product Features in the listing.

·3 weeks agoSo with the MPN the country of origin can be determined? I did not know that.

·3 weeks agoI have purchased dvd's made in Mexico with no issues ... can't recall if Country of Origin was in the listings. Jumpin' Jack Flash was filmed in New York and LA, and I think Hannibal was made somewhere in Italy.

OP3 weeks agoThank you. I just want to find out if there is a way to correct the listing. Buyers don't like to see Manufactured in Mexico. It only happened to the DVD's I listed on September 11. Listings before and after that day are correct.

·3 weeks agoNo problem. I have had no issues with dvd's made in Mexico. OTOH, I haven't built up enough courage to try Coca-Cola made in Mexico 😎

·3 weeks agoMexican Coca Cola tastes like Coca Cola made with real sugar. Just like it tasted before the sugar cartel was created and Coke sweetened with corn syrup.
I like the product but not enough to pay the price premium associated with it.
