Duplicate listings are a problem
Over the last month or more I have been notified of duplicate listings often. In fact I just sold something for the second time, had to refund because the only one I ever had sold last week. I list every single item in my store and I do not list anything twice, ever. There used to be a private off site way to check for duplicates, now I can find nothing. Does anyone know of a check for duplicates solution? Thank you

·3 weeks agoI caught the glitch last night, I ended some listings and went to sell similar, on the page to list, I saw 2 of the same items. So I almost listed the item twice at the same time, I even click back to see if it was listed twice, nope, only one and when I went to sell similar page it only had one. I've caught this one other time, tries to relist 2 instead of the one.

Was it the vintage photograph of Johnny Ringo?
That seems like an unusual item to have two of, and it looks like it is the same photograph in both listings, based on some faint background marks. But, you had two different listings, which had different titles, prices, descriptions and different pictures of the same vintage photograph.

Since they were listed on different days, with different titles, prices, descriptions and photographs, I don't see how this could be an eBay glitch. I'm afraid you must have made a mistake here, and listed the same item twice.

·3 weeks agoI agree.
27 years on ebay and i've only had 2 or 3 duplicate listings ... and they were all my fault.

OP3 weeks agoThank you, actually that is so incorrect on so many points it makes me much more certain glitches are going on. I initially listed several months ago a series of those cards (one of each in separate listings) in the same sitting. Even if one of those is an end sell sim date I would never do that process within 3 days like that. Peculiar, but I've got a checking method now. Thanks

·3 weeks ago · EditedThat's odd. You have not either received or left feedback (not even automatic feedback) for a photograph card of Johnny Ringo, so none have been sold before these ones. Those two listings were definitely started 3 days apart, as shown in the screenshot I shared, and neither was an accidental duplicate of the other. They were active at the same time for 13 days before the first one sold.
If that wasn't it, what was the item that sold twice, and what were the item #s for the original and duplicate sales?

·3 weeks agoYou can export your listing as csv and sort by title but you wont get a visual also if item sold you might not see the item.
Also how do you relist items? Your behavior and habit might be causing the issue. If we can figure out what you do normally we might isolate and prevent future issues. The issue shouldn't be you listing it twice it should be what happens when it is being relisted or sell similar.

OP3 weeks agoThanks, I end sell sim the same way I have for years. Unless something in the system has changed all the years of the same process being no issue suggests it's not me. To get into typing every detail of it is just beyond my available time. I will say that is when i get notices of dupes, which I never did before a month or so back.
