Don’t get a 1099-k, can I still pay into Social Security?
I didn’t sell enough so ebay didn’t issue 1099-k . Is there a way to still pay taxes so I pay towards my social security?

You should consult a tax expert.

I am going to take a guess and say this individual has never claimed their income when filing their taxes or never read the line details on the forms and does not realize that when they file the return that the SE 15.3% is taken as part of the tax paid into the Federal Government if they made a profit from their sales.

OP1 year agodbfolks166mt, the second part of your response "when they file the return that the SE 15.3% is taken as part of the tax paid into the Federal Government" is useful, so thanks for that.

·1 year agoActually, reporting all income and paying taxes on it affects future SS payments.
People who cheated on their taxes for years shortchanged themselves by not reporting their income from eBay and/or other sources.

·1 year agoUnrelated to the 1099 you appear to be a fairly new seller and some of your listings are not very clear. There is no location for the item and you do not have a delivery/shipping method specified.

Myth: If taxpayers didn't receive a Form 1099-K, they don't have to report income.
Fact: According to federal law, all income is taxable unless it is specifically excluded by tax law. Taxpayers should report any profits from selling goods or services, regardless of if they receive a Form 1099-K.

·1 year agoThe IRS expects you to report ALL income whether there's a 1099K or not.

·1 year agoYou don't have to have a l099 to report income.......Any income should be reported on your tax returns......with or without a 1099.

·1 year agoDo you mean pay for 2023? I'm sure you can amend the return for that year............

OP1 year agoYes can I pay taxes if I didn’t get a 1099-k?

·1 year agoYes you can, and for other years that you did not report your income as applicable.
