Does this offer-accepted buyer's comment make any sense & can I offer a solution?
I have a buyer who made an offer that was auto-accepted by my settings, and tomorrow is her last day to pay. Yesterday morning she wrote to say she would pay as soon as she got home from work but I figured she forgot or something. I just got a message from her saying:
"it keeps saying too many transactions, im not trying to make excuses, I sent a message to ebay, I will try again in a few hours, please, I'm sorry"
Is there any kind of "it" within the eBay platform that would reject money? LOL I believe her but I wonder if it is something coming from her bank rather than eBay. I don't know, never heard of anything like this. I just know that waiting to hear back from eBay is probably pointless. And I also don't know what route she used to send "a message" to them.

OP2 years agoNow she says "I will buy it in the morning" -when I have 1-day shipping and will get a defect if I don't have this necklace shipped tomorrow. She was BREATHLESSLY PLEADING with me to "let" her buy the mixed lot before, and said (again) that she bought the necklace just to prove that she is able to complete transactions now. But ......
There is something really weird going on with this one, and honestly I don't see how she can be a seller if she's this squirrelly with buyers (she does have a few glaring negs).

·2 years agoJust ship what she paid for and dont worry about the rest. Really - life is too short and all that...
Besides - today and tomorrow are the same business day in the US and you may actually see your payment as promised once the everyday business resumes tomorrow so you have most of tomorrow to decide whether to ship what you sold or wait a bit longer to see if she returns to pay for more.

·2 years agoIs she a newbie buyer and do you have a Buyer Requirement to block buyers who have purchased more than one item in the past 10 days?

·2 years agoThat was my first thought too. @gurlcat , definitely check that setting or even consider adding them to your exception list (maybe only temporarily) to see if that bypasses the problem.

OP2 years agoJeez, I don't know WHAT is going on with the platform -I have seen so many crazy instances of the software not working properly according to buyers' and sellers' limitations, deadlines, etc. Now here's another one.

So, I should have said in the OP that I already considered my Seller Preference setting but it was totally irrelevant. Yes I do have it set, but only for buyers with fewer than 3 feedbacks.
But this is a well-established eBay'er, in fact she's a buyer and seller.
But get THIS. -When I went to get these ^ screenshots, I couldn't find the order. -Turned out, eBay CANCELLED IT this morning, for non-payment. But the sale occurred Saturday the 29th, she was supposed to have 4 days to pay.
And that IS supposed to be BUSINESS days, right? -They do everything else according to business days, so I can't imagine why this would be different. Matter of fact it wouldn't have surprised me if they gave her until Friday because tomorrow is a holiday. But I am a thousand percent certain that the original Order screen SAID that she had until July 4th to pay! -And this order cancelled at 10:45 AM (eBay time) this morning, so it didn't even give her 3 whole business days!

For Payment matters it's actually 96 hours, business days are not relevant.
Business Days only apply to shipping matters given that carriers like FedEx/UPS etc generally do not accept shipments on Saturday or Sunday, with USPS it's just Sunday but there are lots of rural areas that have very limited operating hours on Saturday.

OP2 years agoAhhhhhh, thank you, I definitely wasn't aware of that. But it still doesn't explain why the original order screen SAID the buyer has until July 4th to pay, I swear! I wish I had a way to prove it, but I guess now that it's cancelled I can't. It stood out to me because I thought about it being a holiday. And I even looked at it before starting this thread this morning. Said July 4th!
So now for a new crazy update: about 2 hours ago I wrote to the buyer to express my sympathy and confusion. She got right on the horn, saying she didn't do the cancellation (yeah I know, I made it clear that I knew that, lol). Then she wrote again, said she still wanted the item please. She then purchased a low-price necklace from me, and wrote "See, I can purchase now, so can I please get that lot?" By that time I had relisted it, at her offer price, but with BIN only (no offer options). So I replied to let her know it was relisted again. Since then ..... crickets. She was SO active on the site before, during, and after the relist (3 messages she sent in those few minutes) ..... but then she drops off the face of the planet.

you should probably edit the buyer ID out of that screenshot ðŸ˜

·2 years agoSounds like they are on a shopping spree if they received such a notice from eBay.
Did you check your buyers' profile?
Did they just become an eBay member?
Their location?

·2 years agoShe should try an alternative payment method, like a different credit card or PayPal.

·2 years agoJust let it run its process and let the customer know if you have to cancel and relist, you will wait to relist it until they get there affairs (financial) in order. If you do choose that, i would add immediate payments to the listing just to make sure your listing does not go into non paying limbo.

The buyer has probably reached her limits for the day on their card and this would be between buyer and her bank.
I doubt if "you've reach to many transactions" was showing up on their screen but "transactions cannot be completed at this time" sounds more like it.
Buyer will have to deal with this on their end.
