Does anyone thank buyers for positive feedback (not buggimg for feedback)
Just curious if anyone uses the "followup* option for feedback to Thank
people for positive feedback
I'm not talking about fishing for feedback
Just Sending a simple Thank You via the follow up option
Would this be another " don't poke the bear" situation
as someone in another post so accurately described it
Just wondering

FWIW I never reply with a thank you... for the simple reason that I deserve the positive feedback.
However, I know that those who buy from me read my feedback, so there are rare occasions when I will respond to something unusual that has been written -- so that people know that I appreciate their business.
Some years ago a very particular and fussy buyer ordered some very expensive crystal wine goblets from me. She wrote a long note to accompany her purchase, giving me very precise instructions about how to wrap everything, prepare the box, etc. It was extremely annoying, to say the least.
I did not need to be told how to do my job, but for the hell of it I decided to follow her instructions to the letter.
She received the box and in her feedback praised me to the heavens -- its been a few years but her prose was so effusive, so full of joy, and more complimentary than anything I have received since that once in a while I will peek at it just for the chuckle.
To her, I replied with a simple "Thank you, it was my great pleasure to be of assistance."
She has since returned for a few more purchases.

·2 years agoDang, I just lost my whole diatribe. But I will get to summoning it up in a minute, but first, I came here because I had the same question after having been genuinely touched by the far from rote FB I didn’t even know I had because I’m a new, casual seller. Anyway, on to the gist of the aforementioned lost diatribe; it was about how dismayed I was by the responses, how cold and focused on profit and nothing else, to hell with being human, F ‘em all and whatnot. (I’m very tired and should be sleeping.) BUT then I thought, maybe it’s WHAT is being sold that makes the difference. And I feel a little bit better about humanity. And to respond to the question, HECK YES, especially after the above comments, I AM GOING TO RESPOND WITH ALL MY HEART TO EVERY SINGLE LOVELY, genuine one of the buyers who so thoughtfully left great feedback, to the point where it really made me feel wonderful to have made them happy enough to make the effort. I just wish I had known that that was a thing because I just discovered them, so I will be a tad tardy. Peace and love, peeps, all you need is love, so be kind and be excellent, to everyone! Please?

OP2 years agoJust to clarify I never send feedback requests, if they haven't they won't
And as far as wasting time I am always taking that into account
Wastingtime101 has put on track many times 🙂
It confirmed that it is primarily for responding to negative feedback
Thanks, look forward to hearing more

·2 years agoI never follow-up on positive feedback. I leave feedback as soon as someone pays. That is my 'thank you.' Occasionally, if someone writes to me after receiving their item & have left FB, I will thank them in a reply.

Absolutely not. I abhor unnecessary and unsolicited messages.
No one was referring to sending a message. The OP was referring to a leaving a thank you as a reply for feedback received from the buyers.

·2 years agoI never follow up feedback to acknowledge the feedback.
IMHO that is still an unnecessary message regardless of where it appears.

·2 years agoNever But I do thank them in the positive feedback I leave them. And I only leave feedback if they leave a positive first.

·2 years agoI think that's happened to me maybe twice, in close to 600 transactions as a buyer.
The only times I've felt like the bear was poked have been on occasions where sellers asked me for feedback, but never left me any.

·2 years agoI started to do it but stopped it. I notice it didn't do anything but take up my time.
The big buyers(buy multiple items) never leave feedback...I look to see who leaves feedback
and the big spenders in my case do not leave any feedback.

OP2 years agoThat is a very interesting *statistic"
I'll have to take notice of that when I can
Thanks for that

Will not poke bears to leave a follow-up that says thanks for the pos FB, but will not gain anything either. Most buyers will not care. A few might appreciate it, most will not care, some won't even notice. I wouldn't notice because I never look at my FB left for others. I leave it and it's done - move on to the next.
So if you're bored and have the time, then I guess, sure, go ahead.
Some sellers think leaving a follow up to every FB is a good idea because it will hide their follow ups to other FB and not make it stand out. I think the cases a seller would reply to any FB other than a neg/neut are so few and far between that it's a waste of time.

·2 years agoI used to message when they paid thanks for payment I have left you positive feedback. It was just a friendly note and did not ask for feedback in return. It worked well for me. I leave all my buyers positive feedback when they fulfill their commitment to pay.

OP2 years agoYeah, I just wanted to make sure customers new I appreciate it
But many have said they know that it's *important" to the seller
BTW your store is very cool, good items
