Does a google boost hide similar items?
Summary: briardlady is dealing with a visibility issue on eBay, where their listing for a 'Frances Valentine Starr Suede Hobo' bag isn't appearing in searches, despite being active. They noticed a similar item promoted via Google that is visible. tobaccocardyahoo suggested checking inventory status, which led briardlady to consider editing or relisting the item. Meanwhile, caldreamer and toomuchstuffagain35 confirmed that the item isn't appearing in search results, suggesting that paying a higher promotion fee might improve visibility. mam98031 noted the variable rules Google applies to search results.
I have a bag listed. I was online and saw a google ad for the exact same item. Being curious, I clicked on the ad. From there, I did an ebay search using the exact same description we both used. My item was literally not listed. I widened the search, making it more generic, still nothing. BTW, my item is $30 less tan the google boosted item. I can see my item if I click from my active listing page, but no search can find it. The google item is Frances Valentine Starr Suede Hobo. My (briardlady) item is Frances Valentine Starr Suede Hobo. I looked under variations, under all condition, it just isn't there.
I checked on a few of my other items, they are showing up in searches. So does paying for a google listing eliminate the competition?

·3 weeks ago · EditedI just looked at your store and it doesn't show up.
You could try ending the listing and relisting it?

·3 weeks agoI viewed your EBAY store and did a search for "Frances Valentine Starr Suede Hobo" purse and nothing comes up. Are you sure you listed this item because it is not showing up on your store?
Also, bear in mind, when doing search on Google or Yahoo (if several sellers are offering the same thing, not all items will be displayed). If you pay high promotion fee to EBAY your items are more likely to show up.

·3 weeks agoIDK about similar items, but Google search has all kinds of rules they go by. Things they like and don't like. I don't however know what that currently is sadly.

OP3 weeks agoI just discovered that clicking on see all listings for me, the item isn't there. But it is in my active listings list, with no commens or indication why it would not be searchable.

·3 weeks agoRecently I have had many active listings which have zero inventory and do not appear in my store or in the Ebay search.
Are you sure that you have inventory for the item?
This was stuff I had already sold.

OP3 weeks agoWell, that sent me to edit the listing, and add 1 as the quantity. I've never done that on a listing, but it's worth a try. It already said 1 in the active listing details. I guess I'll delist and then relist, see if that helps. This is just weird. I'll have to double check my active list against the see all listings link.

OP3 weeks agoWell, That worked. Delisted last night, relisted today, and it's back on search. Thanks for the help!
