Do not talk to eBay on Facebook.
They send you a link to verify your eBay account.
Due to some technical error, clicking the link will instantly suspend your Facebook account for "cybersecurity protocols".
Can anyone at eBay please respond to this? I've lost my entire account which I use for business for 48 hours now because of this.

I never had that problem either.

Good morning @quadcitypickers. Since this is regarding your facebook account, and not your eBay account, we would recommend reaching out to facebook directly as they would be able to see what has happened and help.
Thank you

·1 year agoI can tell you I went through this just some days ago and the verification link and my situation got resolved, so I'm not sure what is going on with you but let me ask you this:
What did you get suspended from?
Ebay or Facebook?

·1 year agoOn each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://www.facebook.com/ebay
https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

·1 year agoYou're advising everyone else not to talk to eBay on Facebook.
How do you know what's happening to you will happen to everyone else?

·1 year agoCan you test it for us?

·1 year ago🤣I can't tell if you're just playing or not. On the one hand I'm all about testing things, but on the other I'm all about wasting as little of the social media reps' time as possible, because I think they're already getting stretched too thin because their service isn't as good as it used to be.
There would be no way to test this without starting an actual message to them, then depending on the outcome of clicking the link, you'd either arrive to the potluck with no dish, or be suspended from Facebook.

·1 year agoDepending on your computer's security levels & virus software, they *can* interpret pages like that as Malware. I would check your anti-virus software & see if it was reported in there. I've had stuff like that happen, though I don't use FB, it's the devil, when I've had my security level set to high or when my anti-virus software gets a bit too literal.
@stuff4divas they are referring to their FB acct.

·1 year agoDid it indicate that it's a 48-hour suspension, or is that just how long ago this happened and you don't know if it's permanent, or what?
moretreasures4you
·1 year agoI have used them several times with no problems. I would say be sure it is the "official" page?? Hopefully you will get it fixed!

·1 year ago@quadcitypickers u have 171 listings still showing, so doesn't look like u 'lost your entire account'

·1 year agoI just did that yesterday. Account was not suspended, no warnings or problems resulted from clicking the verification link.

·1 year agoHi @devon@ebay @kyle@ebay @elizabeth@ebay - can you take a look at the OP and see if you can get this in front of the right people to see what's going on? Thanks!

OP1 year agoSo my s/o just told me that she had something similar happen when her friend had some sort of contest and clicking a link to verify her account kept making reports her "account was getting hacked".
Facebook must have some kind of new requirement or rule on clicking verification links, or their AI has gone haywire.

·1 year agoGood to know, I will try & avoid that!

OP1 year ago...and how do I know it's due to this?
Because twice now when I click the link it instantly suspends your account.
iamalwaysright
·1 year agoSo you got suspended twice? That means you had the account reinstated somehow, was it manually or automatic?
I wonder what happens if once you're reinstated again that you message ebay on facebook for the exact reason that their verification is making facebook suspend your account. Would they try to help you and respond, or require you to go thru the verification (the very thing you are complaining to them about) first? Catch 22.
