Do I have the option to cancel a sale
when the buyer is new to ebay and I can't find any connection to him or even the state and I emailed him to verify the address and he hasn't responded?

·3 years agoIMHO, if the slight possibility that your paying customer might be a scammer has you investigating your customer/seeking a reason to cancel a sale the scammers are winning.

·3 years agoYou have to mail it. I have a few that had no feedback and mail items out. I don't leave them feedback first. I keep on eye if they ever give me feedback. They haven't ever given me feedback and these few never get any feedback from other sellers. Strange.
What I do sometimes is take a photo of envelope or package and send it to buyer stating your purchase has been mailed.

·3 years agoSure, you can cancel, however when the buyer didn't request to cancel you earn a defect.
You are covered if you ship with tracking to the address eBay provides.

·3 years agoEveryone is new at some point. Or maybe he isn't. Could be a new buying ID for any number of valid reasons.

·3 years agoYou don't need to research the buyer. If eBay tells you that payment has been received then it's time to ship.
As for "verifying" the address, that will occur automatically behind the scenes when you purchase the label. The buyer's address is verified against the USPS database, the ZIP code is expanded to the correct ZIP+4 9-digit code, and you're given the label for printing.

If the winning bidder has not responded with payment by day 4, on day 5 cancel the sale citing the buyer didn't pay and then block them:

Do not send additional invoices either, it will only reset the clock & you'll wait even longer.
If you want to avoid these types of bidders, list all your items at a fixed, buy it now price, immediate payment required and NO best offers. That way you'll get more serious buyers.

OP3 years agoNo it is paid for. I usually check out new customers for valid addresses and in the coin world , they usually pop up as a connection to the address or something . I am probably being over cautious, I just wondered.

If the item is paid for and eBay says ship .... ship!
There is zero reason to email and verify.
