Do canceled listings count against my selling limits?
I have a listing, and I want to create another one, but it puts me over my selling limits. If I cancel a "good until sold" listing, does that amount go back into my selling limit?

·3 years agoYes if you cancel a sale or end a listing you still have used the listing against your limit. When I started the account I use for trading cards I only had a limit of 10 for the month. I foolishly listed all 10. Had a buyer contact me and ask to cancel a purchase. No problem there. Then he changed his mind and asked to buy it. I could not relist it but having another account I put it up there just for him so all worked out. Fortunately when I started my newest selling account I got a higher limit!

·3 years agoYou can try talking to the eBay reps at http://www.facebook.com/ebayforbusiness (despite the link to Facebook, those are actual eBay employees you can speak to who have power to change things). That said, they might not be any more helpful than the automated request because you already submitted that and there is a limit to how many times they can review your account for a limit increase within a certain time frame, I believe.

·3 years agoIt is not a selling limit it is a listing limit if you have made a listing it goes against your limit, canceling it will do no good as it as be used against your listing limit.

OP3 years agoAh...got it. They have my listing limit at $30k, I tried to click the button to get them to raise it, and it told me to go pound sand. Does anyone know if there is an actual person I can talk to or chat with in support to get it raised, or is that a waste of time to try?

·3 years agoYou don’t really “cancel†listings per se, you cancel purchases when a buyer has won or paid. If you are rather asking about if you end a good til cancelled listing with the end listing button, the remaining quantity in that listing will go back to your selling limit allotment allowing you to list more.

OP3 years agoYes, this is what I was talking about. I have an item listed as "good until canceled," I want to list another higher-value item which I could do if I got rid of the first listing. If I get that listing amount back, I can put the second one up! I wanted to ensure I could before going through the trouble.
Also, as a side note, if I have a listing that I am going to cancel, is there anyway to save that listing for later use or do I have to rebuild it from scratch?

It should be in your "ended listings" for 90 days.
Option #2 Before ending do "sell similar" , but do not list it. Use "save for later"
It will be (should be) in "drafts" for 75 days.

·3 years agoNo i do not believe this is correct. Canceling a listing does not add an additional quantity to the monthly listing limits to be used again in the same month. The limits reset each month.
