dispute over item not received
So what's up with this, it seems everything just keeps changing on this site. I had a buyer that didnt receive their item. From tracking it evidently got lost in the USPS shuffle. I sent them a replacement and bought a new label through ebay. No big deal. A few days later Ebay sends me another and says I need to reply to the dispute. I already did and I have been in contact with the buyer and did everything though the dispute pages??? I'll make it good , even though I'm not actually at fault. They are still holding my funds and I guess they will refund the buyer even though I have now two item in the mail to them and it was all done through Ebay. It sure was much easier and simpler to use back in the old days. Even leaving feedback for buyers was. Its all seems hidden now.

·2 years agoDon't do replacements on ebay.
Refund and have them repurchase.
Try and recover funds from insurance on the refunded order if you have any coverage.

·2 years agoYes, everything has changed. Things are much more complicated now. Bear in mind managed payments is also managed returns, and pretty much managed everything. If you decide to return money and mail replacements without being told to, this will be the result.

·2 years agoDid you add the new tracking # to the original transaction? Don't know if that would help......

OP2 years agoYes I added the new tracking and the replacement was received.
When I mention the good old days, the site was much easier to use years ago. I liked the old format better. Its too automated now or at least it seems to be. Maybe over automated is what i want to say. You have to go searching into pages , where as before it was just a couple clicks. Even the way this community is layed out has changed.
The my ebay home page was a lot easier to use. My ebay page is more like their ebay page now. It sucks.

·2 years agoeBay has never had a good system for dealing with "send a replacement" as a resolution to a dispute.
The best advice I have seen on this board has always been to refund and have the buyer re-purchase the item.
This closes the original case, and keeps the payment, tracking, and timeline for the replacement separate.
When was the "good old days" when eBay had a good "send a replacement" system?
