Displaying shipping cost in a listing
A) 1 I have entered the size, weight, and preferred shipping service on my listing for a 65" diagonal TV, but the shipping cost does not display to me (the seller) or to viewers (potential buyers). Several buyers have even asked if I can or will ship it? (I am guessing that the problem has something to do with the size of the package (64 X 39 X 6" and weight of 61# 3 oz. I have selected USPS Ground Advantage, which USPS tells me WILL ship this size/weight.)
B) I have tried to ask ask eBay through the "Contact Us" box how I can fix this. In Automated Chat, they cannot seem to understand my description of the problem, even though I have worded it very simply in numerous sets of words. (That seems to be a problem with their Artificial Intelligence, which apparently has never had someone ask such a question.)
C) And I have tried to have eBay phone me, but when they try to call my phone, it does not ring so I cannot answer it. (It seems to have gone through, as eBay's number displays on my Recent Calls -- but the number displayed as eBay does not have a live person answer when I call.) And when ask Chat to call my wife's phone, they still try to call MY phone, even after repeated requests to call the different number.
Do any of you have any suggestions, for either the problem itself or on how to get eBay on the phone?

Friend, you can't sell prescription drugs on eBay ... human or veterinary. Also, addicts don't care if it is for humans or dogs or horses.

Here is a recent comment about this drug:
"Long considered safe and non-addictive, gabapentin is increasingly showing up in the bodies of people who overdose on heroin and prescription opioids. Researchers are now finding that the alternative painkiller has become a drug of abuse."

The bottles have your name on them.
Do you have a pet named Bill Couchman?

·1 year agoNot a good idea to ship a TV. EBAY hold Seller responsible if item gets broken when shipping. You will be forced to refund (purchase price + shipping).

·1 year agoI’d ask the OP if this is really something they want to ship as non-working. The buyer will likely request a return, and you’ll probably end up covering the return shipping costs or just refunding and gifting it to them in the end. Just saying, not a good idea.
You will eat the shipping on this.

·1 year agoFor USPS shipping, I had to use Nonrectangular and a girth measurement on usps site.
But looks like it is almost $200.00 to ship through USPS ground OR->PA.
orangehound
·1 year agoYou cannot ship that through USPS. The maximum package size for Ground Advantage "may not measure more than 130 inches in length and girth combined".
The package that you are describing measures 154 inches: 64 + (39+6)*2
You would have to use UPS or FedEx ... using either will be wicked expensive because they have hefty surcharges for large and heavy items. For example, the FedEx surcharge for that size package is $240-305 depending on the address.
Bottom line: this needs to be a local pick-up only ... not an item that is shipped.
billcouchman
OP1 year agoBut I can ship via UPS for $400-500.

·1 year ago^^^ This is the answer.
On top of that, the listing has the wrong item condition.
Comments say, "I cannot verify nor guarantee full or ongoing functionality. Sold as."
You must list as "for parts or not working" as the description does not fit eBay's definition of used.

Here are the requirements for Ground Advantage. Looks like the size of your parcel may be an issue.

·1 year agoSlightly off topic but...
It's not a good idea to sell that "may or may not work:" tv on ebay.
Do you realize that if the buyer get's it and wants to return it for ANY reason, you will be stuck paying for return shipping (unless you refund them and let them keep it without sending it back).
There is no such thing as "sold as is" on ebay.
I suggest you read up on ebay's MBG (money back guarantee).
buyselljack2016
·1 year agothat size box (over 108") by USPS would incur a "balloon" surcharge.
That makes the cost $96-$252
64 + 39 + 6 + 6+ = 115"

OP1 year agoEBay is wrong in recommending Buyers Advantage. There is NO USPS service that can accept a package this large.
Easy fix …..you need to select a shipping service in the listing form.
billcouchman
OP1 year agoI did select the shipping service that eBay recommended, USPS Buyers Advantage, but the problem is that that there is no USPS service that can take a package this large.
